The Future of Work in Saudi Arabia is People Centric
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 12 - 2023

Client Solutions Group, Dell Technologies META, shared insights on workforce transformation and how Dell is helping organizations in Saudi Arabia build a thriving, sustainable future of work with up-and-coming technologies.
Q1. How do you perceive the current state of workforce transformation within the KSA business landscape?
Over the past five years, there has been a complete shift in how we approach our work, particularly in the context of hybrid work. In today's do-anything-from-anywhere economy, intelligent and seamless collaboration for optimized workforce productivity has become a necessity. Businesses are actively invested in equipping and preparing their workforce to excel in this new reality.
This change was evident in the Dell Technologies Innovation Index, a study polling 6,600 employees across 45+ countries, including Saudi Arabia, which showed that 88% of KSA business leaders believed that, in part, people join their company because they believe they'll be empowered to innovate. The study, however, also highlighted the need to bridge the innovation gap. 54% of KSA respondents believed people also leave their company because they haven't been able to innovate as much as they hoped they would, citing aspects of their company's culture as a key factor holding them back from being as innovative as they want to or can be.
This is the ideal time for decision-makers and IT managers to look at new technologies for result-driven changes. They must embrace a future-ready approach that empowers new talent, amplifies employee experience and supports a culture of innovation.
Q2. How is Dell incorporating emerging technologies, such as AI and security, across its portfolio?
Dell prioritizes intelligent devices with AI for personalized user experiences and a strong environmental commitment. Our strategy empowers businesses to navigate shifts in workplace productivity, collaborating and innovating effectively. With a people-centric approach, our computing devices are designed with AI to optimize performance, reliability, and manageability, meeting users' diverse needs. Our AI application enhances connection quality, optimizes audio performance, and reduces energy consumption.
We are also committed to supporting organizations to build their modern security strategy by providing systems with end-to-end security integration. We combine hardware, software, services and financing into one solution to simplify PC lifecycle management, and we offer a comprehensive portfolio of hardware, software solutions and services to built on the Zero Trust principles.
Q3. How do PCs play a role in the future of work?
The PC has become the productivity tool in any organization. Organizations have realized that having happy employees boosts engagement and productivity. This is driving significant investments in persona driven secure devices and solutions with the right ecosystem. The PC will continue to be the gateway to the employee experience and a symbol of a company's commitment to innovation. Successful digital transformation adoption requires end to end strategy starting from the user to the data center. This in turn will drive investments in modern, intelligent, collaborative and secure user experience which integrates in the overall strategy.
Q4. What is Dell's stance on sustainability and environmental responsibility, and how does it manifest in your business operations?
Saudi Arabia is strategically establishing sustainability objectives, aiming for net-zero carbon emissions by 2060, and aligning closely with the sustainability focus embedded in its Vision 2030. At Dell, we are also steadfast in our commitment to sustainability, which is integral to our business strategy. We integrate circular design principles and responsible asset recovery to prioritize sustainable materials, reuse, and recycling. Our aim is to enable organizations to enhance sustainability across their operations. Striving for net zero emissions by 2050, we actively contribute to advancing the circular economy. Our holistic sustainability approach, guiding our business strategy, positions us as leaders fostering positive change in a dynamic world.
We are excited about our first packaging made with 100% recycled or renewable materials, starting with Latitude 7, 5, and 3000 series and Precision 5000 series, extending to more products later. This collaborative effort focuses on next-level materials while ensuring recyclability. The packaging, including paper tape, showcases a sophisticated, sustainable design.
We design our products for repairability, reusability, and recyclability, offering customers sustainable choices. Our Latitude 5000 series, a strategic sustainability investment, features laptop lids made from 71% recycled and renewable materials, including bio-based plastic and reclaimed carbon fiber. We prioritize ocean-bound plastics, incorporating them beyond packaging into product components like fan housing.
Sustainability is ingrained in our core values, as we continuously strive to reduce our environmental impact through intentional product and packaging design, aiming to cut emissions and eliminate waste.
