Retribution for Daesh twins who murdered mother brutally
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 13 - 03 - 2022

RIYADH — The twin brothers who brutally killed their mother and seriously wounded their father and brother were among the 81 criminals to whom the death penalty was handed down on Saturday, according to a statement of the Ministry of Interior.
The Saudi siblings were found guilty that they embraced the Daesh (so-called IS) ideology and committed the heinous crime with their firm conviction that their "family had become infidels".
Saudis woke up on May 24, 2016, during the month of Ramadan, to the horrific news that the twin brothers had killed their mother, tried to kill their father and stabbed their brother in Al-Hamra neighborhood of Riyadh.
They were arrested by the security authorities after they fled the scene of the murder.
According to the ministry statement, Saleh Bin Ibrahim Al-Oraini and Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al-Oraini were convicted of several crimes, including their involvement in the murder of their mother through trickery and deception, and the attempt to kill their father and brother, and their adoption of the Daesh ideology.
The Riyadh Criminal Court sentenced them to death after convicting them of a number of crimes, including brutal murder of mother and their embracing of Daesh ideology. Later, the higher courts upheld the death penalty.
Khalid and Saleh, stabbed their 67-year-old mother Haila, 73-year-old father Ibrahim Bin Ali Al-Oraini, and 22-year-old brother Suleiman at their family home in Al-Hamra. Their mother died of her wounds while their father and brother were seriously injured.
According to reports, the mother had objected to her sons joining the Daesh terrorists group in Syria. One of the brothers killed mother with the help of his brother after they had lured her into one of the rooms of their house.
The second brother held her forcibly from her back and put his left hand on her mouth to muffle her screams. She was stabbed in various places of her body until she finally fell to the ground. Evidence proved that their crime was premeditated.
Both brothers said they committed the murder as they believed their "family had become infidels". They also said that their father "was an infidel" and attacked him with several blows to his head and hands.
They used a machete and sharp knives brought from outside, which were retrieved from the crime scene. They ran away from the scene after snatching a car of a resident by force and fled. The security authorities, who launched a massive manhunt, arrested them from Al-Dalam town in Al-Kharj governorate.
