JEDDAH — Kaleem Salim lifted Pin Rockers, while Bobby Baraquel and Mariz Resano towed Silver Strike (Bowl to win) to sustain narrow gap with their respective rivals during the tough session two of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League Invitational Meet at the Bowling City here recently.
Despite Zaldy Bacero's 694 that won him his second Bowler of the Week honor, Kaleem kept close with his 640 to place the match at manageable distance. Bacero once again led Ekis-4 with scratch games of 198, 247 and 249 which Kaleem contended with 211, 243 and 186. Ekis-4 again posted best series at 3,622 tpf for 33.5 session points on corroboration of captain-cum-manager Ernie Geslani 621, Faisal Relativo 607, Tommy de Castro 693, Alma Bacero 690 and Sol Cuenca 517. Kaleem was supported by captain Rudy Valenzuela 557, Archie Santos 615, Romy Bunagan 573, Carling Constantino 593 and Minda Guevara 561 to make Pin Rockers to be session's second best at 28.5 points.
Baraquel smudged his last week's disastrous games with his 633, glittered by 220 and 236 that primarily helped Silver Strike to be as close as 27-26.5 points with Shawly Bowlers as he contained Arnel Digap to 628 on games of 207, 240 and 181. Resano, who won the lady Bowler of the Week honor on her games of 234, 211 and 180, provided Baraquel the much-needed support at 625 for Silver Strike's 3,521-3,516 upset of Shawly on aggregate, though the latter totaled better on scratch series at 3,231-3,143. Also on par games for Silver Strike were Tarik with 603 on 236 hi-game, Serge Rivera with 588, Frank Afurong with 501 and skipper Edward Botardo with 571. On Shawly's, Digap was best cushioned by Cloyd Opena at 603, followed by Sally Sanosa 595, Nestor Sanosa 590 and Edison Arena 559.
Other outings showed that Mac Galang total 640 in leading BCT Mongoose on their 24.5 points and Ariel Pasiola top JTC Keglers' board at 600. Surpassing 600 for Ester Santoc's Micah's Pride were Rolly Vistal 646, Oca Bernabe 622, Tommy Kamal 609 and Rey Feliciano 606. Best scorer for Leo Apacible's Lane Aligner Squad was Rene Balangue with 593.
