UAE's young artists to showcase future hopes at ‘The Seed'
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 12 - 2020

The nation's young artists are being invited to add their creative touch to the site of ‘The Seed' experience on Jubail Island.
Children are being welcomed to decorate a collection of 20cm square blocks that will be stacked to produce a colorful wall of art. The artistic brief is simple — to paint their vision for the future of the UAE.
Showcasing young people's imaginative hopes and aspirations, the installation will form a vibrant centerpiece at the site of ‘The Seed'.
A series of interactive experiences for visitors to enjoy are also available on site, including a polaroid wall which features images of visitors in front of the breathtaking cube, a ‘Lest We Forget' gift shop, and an exhibition that includes never-before-seen sketches of the conceptualizing of the kinetic art sculpture.
Many people tuned in to the recent Official 49th UAE National Day celebration on Dec. 2 that was centered around a kinetic art sculpture.
The unique art piece has now been transformed into an art installation named ‘The Seed' for the public to enjoy until Jan. 30.
People are able to buy tickets for AED30 for those aged 18 years and above, and AED15 for children aged 7–17, to visit the site and enjoy a spectacular display of light, art and music amid Jubail Island's majestic mangrove forests.
A newly created beach area, which looks out onto the stunning sculpture, safely seats up to 400 people in a relaxed setting.
All of the money from the tickets is being used to fund a conservation program in the mangroves.
The site opens at 5 p.m. each day – every day except Sundays – to allow people to take their seats before sunset.
An audio-visual experience is played continuously between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., while food and beverage is served from on-site food trucks.
In line with the UAE's COVID-19 policies, all seating is socially-distanced and all necessary precautionary and preventive measures have been put in place. — SG
