RIYADH — Saudi courts and notaries have performed 470,000 operations in 19 workdays of June, including judicial, enforcement, and notarial services. It reflects positively on performance of commercial and labor judiciary due to digital transformation efforts. The operations included issuing over 46,000 first-instance rulings, receiving over 64,000 judicial and enforcement applications and carrying out over 279,000 notarizations. As for enforcement statistics, applications during June rose 42 percent compared to the same period of last year. The total amount of the financial claims was over SR29 billion ($7.7 billion), an increase of 149 percent year on year. Thanks to digital transformation efforts undertaken by the ministry, enforcement debtors can meet their financial obligations by settling "digital" invoices through various banking outlets. As soon as the payment is verified, all sanctions against the debtor are lifted. It is noteworthy that the Saudi judicial system has recently witnessed major strides in digitization, which simplified procedures and shortened the litigation timeframe. In addition, courthouses have been internally reorganized to streamline judicial work.
