RIYADH — Courts all over the Kingdom held about 44,000 sittings and issued more than 15,000 rulings in the past week. This was in addition to more than 26,000 operations carried out by the executive courts, which varied between decisions and executive procedures. The Ministry of Justice said its judicial facilities extended more than 163,000 services including documentation, execution and other courts services to the beneficiaries during the week. It said the operations conducted by all courts have reached 81,360 with exception of the Executive Courts, which conducted 26,082 operations. The ministry said the documentation work made by the notary public during the week reached 555,539. Justice Minister Waleed Bin Mohammed Al-Samaani issued a decision in November 2018 to digitize all court work. Saudi courts have paperless since then. Al-Samaani said the main aim of digitization of courts was to speed up and facilitate work and procedures for the public. Under the minister's decision, 26 government departments are electronically linked to the judiciary.
