Bowlers dominate in JCT-S:Mile Cup
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 03 - 2019

JEDDAH — The seventh season of Jeddah Champion's Trophy (JCT) for S:Mile Cup witnessed several low scoring matches with some remarkable performances by the bowlers, none better than Jeddah Gladiators who put up a bowling effort for the ages against AD Avengers.
Led by left-arm Afsar, who picked up 5 wickets for 2 runs, Jeddah Gladiators skittled out their opponents for a meager 8 runs to record the best ever bowling effort in the 5-year history of the tournament.
UBCC came close to eclipsing the feat against City Fighters when it prized out its opponents first 6 wickets with only 3 runs on the board, but some late order resilience helped City Fighters scrape through to 42 which UBCC chased down with ease.
Amid the bowlers dictating terms, Rukshan Jayanath scored a blistering 94 not out off 47 balls to take his team KSA Captains Cafeteria to its first win of the season against 3 Star CC.
This season is mainly sponsored by S:Mile and powered by Al-Salem York, supported by Saudi Cricket Center and co-sponsored by Datco, Biryani House and B-Cola.
