Saudia Aviation routs Wild Boys

JEDDAH — Saudia Aviation team of Andrew Masongsong defeated AVK Wild Boys 60-48 in the JBL Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court here recently.
The winner displayed excellent composure in the fourth period and connected its outside shots. Dexter Flora top-scored with 14 points for the winner and was adjudged the Giordano Best Player, while Jolli Tilo led the loser with 12 points.
This tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Saudi Signs (Sam Adora), Al-Haddaf Sportswear (Bayoumi) and Arabian Food Supplies Catering Division (Ahmad Miri).
Al-Mostaqbal Hospital team of Jack Esquerdo upset Awdah 66-63. The winning team displayed fine team work. Roland Bertolano scored 24 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Best Player, while Elmer Sanchez hit 15 points for the loser.
Sabr Brothers Yellow team of Rasheed Suyat beat Salam Brothers White 74-60 in the JDC Inter-Color Championship. Jameel Khobre led the winner with 27 points and was named the JBL Best Player. Ali Abdullah and Abu Mushab scored 13 points apiece for the loser.
SBG Sparks team of Gerry Careon defeated Urban Design Group 75-71 in overtime. Marcial Lozano scored 28 points for the winner and was selected the JBL Best Player. Mico Lico made a game-high 31.
On Thursday, Al-Muhaidib team of Robert De Guzman beat NCB Quick Pay 72-61. The winner's outside shooting shattered the defense of the loser in the final quarter. Pablo Viscayno top-scored with 20 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Best Player. Tocama chipped in with 25 points for the loser.
Uptown 966 team of Halim Mezher defeated Barangay Fame 66-35. Magat led the winner with 19 points and was declared the Saudi Signs Best Player, Aro contributed 19 for the loser.
Marhaba team of Dennis beat Saudi Diyar 42-41. The loser missed its desperation shot with just 7 seconds remaining. Small but terrible Cabalu poured in 19 points for the winner and was named the JBL Best Player. Boy Manila scored 11 points for the loser.
Jeddah Eagles team of coach Hassan defeated IDB 69-41. Jamal led the winner with 20 points and was adjudged the JBL Best Player. Malabed and Cortez scored 10 points apiece for the loser.
