Awdah, Almabani and ALJ Central Purchasing excel in JBL

JEDDAH — Awdah of Rey Magat defeated NCB Quick Pay 61-47 in the JBL Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court here.
Awdah executed its offensive plays well in the final quarter, while NCB Quick Pay committed unforced errors in the end game. Sanchez scored 16 points for the winner and was adjudged the Giordano Player of the Game, while Elmer Genisa top scored with 15 points for the loser.
This tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN – The Filipino Channel, Saudi Signs (Sam Adora), Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi) and Arabian Food Supplies Catering Division (Ahmad Miri).
Uptown of Halim Mezher scored over ALJ Used Cars 69-63. The winner played a set game in the final quarter. The loser's defense crumbled at crucial moments of the game. Rafael Saldua poured in 20 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Kelvin Ray Llamado chipped in with 17 points for the loser.
ALJ Central Purchasing of Noel Sun beat Marhaba 63-40. The winner applied fast game to rattle the Marhaba defense in the fourth quarter. Rasheed Mohammed scored 15 points for the winner and was named the Saudi Signs Player of the Game, while Cabalu top scored with 11 points for the loser.
SBG Sparks of Gerry Carreon defeated Saudi Diyar Consultants 65-56 in overtime. SBG Sparks made no mistake in the extra period as the loser felt the pressure and missed important baskets. Dizon and Omboy scored 9 points apiece for the winner. Soriano was selected as the JBL Player of the Game for his steady free throws, while Gerald De Leon scored 21 points for the loser.
On Friday Taqwa Brothers Green defeated Sabr Brothers Yellow 73-66 in the JDC Inter-Color division. The winner's fast-break plays were unstoppable in the final period. Loy top scored with 28 points for the winner and was named the JBL Player of the Game. Jameel Khobre top scored with 38 points for the loser.
Islamic Development Bank of Omer Celis beat Al-Ittefaq 56-46 for back-to-back wins. Pineda had 16 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL player of the game, while Espayos contributed 14 points for the loser.
Almabani of Jose Infante clobbered Barangay Fame 63-27. The winner completely dominated the game. Loyola and Buan scored 11 points apiece for the winner and both were selected as the JBL players of the game. Dela Cruz and Alivio hit 6 points apiece for the loser.
Urban Design Group of Ariel Acedera beat AVK Wild Boys 57-47. Both teams showed championship caliber. Mico Lico poured 25 points for the winner and was adjudged the TFC Player of the Game, while Jolli Tilo top scored with 18 points for the loser.
