TAMPA, Fla. — Cory Conacher had two goals and an assist to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning past the Winnipeg Jets 8-3 Friday night.
Tampa Bay also got goals from Steven Stamkos, Vincent Lecavalier, Nate Thompson, Teddy Purcell, Ryan Malone and Benoit Pouliot. Stamkos and Lecavalier both added two assists.
The Lightning, 6-1-0 this season, have scored five or more goals in four consecutive games.
Tobias Enstrom, Paul Postma and Andrew Ladd scored third-period goals for Winnipeg, which has lost three in a row.
The Jets were coming off a 6-3 loss at Florida on Thursday night in which the Panthers scored five third-period goals.
Conacher, Stamkos and Lecavalier all had first-period man-advantage goals as the Lightning, who started play with the NHL's fifth-best power play, grabbed a 3-0 lead.
Winnipeg entered with the league's worst penalty-kill unit.
Stamkos has five goals and 14 points during a season-opening seven-game point streak.
Red Wings 5, Blues 3: Henrik Zetterberg scored three goals and his second assist of the game set up Pavel Datsyuk's tiebreaking goal at 9:38 of third period, lifting Detroit over St. Louis. The Blues' four-game winning streak was snapped.
Hurricanes 1, Senators 0: Dan Ellis made 33 saves for his first shutout in more than two years and Eric Staal scored as Carolina improved to 9-0-1 in its last 10 home games against Otttawa.
Ellis, making only his second start of the season in place of Cam Ward, earned his 13th career shutout and first since Nov. 9, 2010, against Toronto while he was with Tampa Bay.
Capitals 3, Flyers 2: Troy Brouwer and Wojtek Wolksi scored third-period goals, and Braden Holtby made 29 saves in Washington's victory over Philadelphia.
Niklas Backstrom had a goal and an assist to help Washington (2-5-1) end a two-game skid.
Stars 4, Coyotes 3, SO: Jaromir Jagr and Jamie Benn scored in a shootout to lift Dallas to a victory over Phoenix.
Ducks 3, Wild 1: Kyle Palmieri scored two goals on his 22nd birthday, breaking a tie early in the third period of Anaheim's victory over Minnesota.
Bobby Ryan had a power-play goal and two assists, and linemate Teemu Selanne had three assists in the Ducks' fourth win in six games to start the season.
Canucks 2, Blackhawks 1, SO: Jordan Schroeder scored in a shootout to lift Vancouver over Chicago. Schroeder, who hasn't scored a traditional goal in the regular season, fired a low, hard shot that squeaked through the pads of goalie Corey Crawford. — Agencies
