NBA and Caasi bag Itqan honors

RIYADH – NBA keglers, mentored by Nelson de Vera, and the promising Angel Caasi rocked the lanes to bag the Team and the Bowler of the Week awards, respectively, in the 26th Week of the Itqan Tenpin Bowlers (IBG) Friday Afternon Bowling League, 2nd Conference. Hala In'tl Mabuhay Mobily in partnership with Globe is sponsoring the event that is being held at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC) here. IBG Advocates is organizing the league.
NBA team, sitting third after the 26th week of action, out-played Great Balls of Fire, 23-15, to clinch the Team of the Week award. Five-time Perfect 300 holder southpaw Ronald Bautista, together with Joe Garrido, Nelson de Vera and Joel Batolina lifted NBA by posting four-game series of 871, 861, 806 and 805. The duo of Ryan Inigo and Bandar Al-Marshad shone to add separate series of 402 and 361 in two games.
Jess Ambon and Danny Trinidad hit 882 and 815 points, respectively, to be at the helm for Great Balls of Fire. Ed Cruz collected 778 points to follow Ambon and Trinidad, while Jojo Miraflor and Ely Fanugao had 559 and 542 series in three games. Sammy San Juan added 405 points.
Promising Angel Caasi, Week's Best Bowler awardee, lifted Bankrun to nip SABB Strikers, 13-12. Caasi equipped with 34 handicaps scored a four-game series of 915. Following him were Dawood Sereno (799), Marco Torres (735) and Sam Alinsod (729).
Freddie Solomon and Clem Salazar led the SABB Strikers by posting series of 823 and 811, while Resty de Jesus toppled 808 to come-in next to Solomon and Salazar.
SACO edged arch-rival Magnificent-5, 16-11 through the combined effort of Nickson Mesa (787), Buddy Balisi (783), Ferdie dela Rosa (778), Jun Sebastian (753) and Jim dela Rosa (684).
Having the best score for Magnificent-5 was Jun Daniel with 878. He was followed by Mar Queyquep (849), Ely Baraquiel (753) and Paul Decena (379).
Other results: D'Pirates beat Salyng Kits 23-7, Air21 beat Roll and Bowl 21-18, Itqan Tornado beat Xperts 21-11, Itqan Tenpin Wizards beat Pinbusters 20-19.
