Carasig and D'Pirates share weekly awards

RIYADH – Veteran Andy Carasig of the Roll and Bowl team clinched the Bowler of the Week award, while the keglers of D'Pirates team bagged their back-to-back Team of the Week honor in the 22nd week of the IBG Friday Bowling League 2nd Conference sponsored by Hala International Mabuhay Mobily in partnership with Globe.
IBG Advocates is organizing the league that is held every Friday afternoon at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC) here.
Carasig, one of the best players of the Roll and Bowl team, emerged as the week's best bowler after posting a four-game series of 887. Carasig's outstanding performances helped Roll and Bowl upset Itqan Tenpin Wizards, 20-18. Carasig equipped with 20 handicaps carded 199, 221, 197 and 190.
Archie Oliva and team mentor Ernie Tulang supported Roll and Bowl by adding identical series of 843. Bobby Jamora and Butch Espinosa had 773 and 709 points, respectively.
Zaldy Torres and Jett Cabana shone in the Itqan Tenpin Wizards by tallying 923 and 204. Ruben Babasa had 765 points, while Butch Mateo sealed scored 763 points. Perfect 300 league achiever, Ric Urrutia, Jr. toppled 610 series in three games, while Gigi Enriquez had 178 in one game.
League leader, D'Pirates dismantled Great Balls of Fire by recording a perfect 26 points, enough to clinch their back-to-back Team of the Week honor. In the limelight were Bembol Velasco (862), Andro Tismo (861), Fareed Aquino (859), Celis Viloria (832) and Johnny Penecilla (737). Edwin Atienza mentored the D'Pirates team.
Danny Trinidad hit 795 points to lead the Great Balls of Fire. Following him were Jojo Miraflor with 743 points, Ely Fanugao with 722 points, while Ed Cruz had 717.
SABB Strikers recorded a win against the Pinbusters, 24-12, through the combined efforts of Freddie Solomon ((832), Resty de Jesus (828), Ahmed Al-Qarqoush (752), Clem Salazar (731), Noel Morales (580) and Allan John Ofreneo (334).
For the Pinbusters, Fhel Ramos scored 850, Fathi Abdulaziz 828, Hani Al-Nasleh 751, Boy Mirando 710 and Marvin Arocena 685.
Other results: Itqan Tenpin Wizards beat NBA 24-10, Air21 beat Bankrun 23-0, Magnificent 5 beat Xperts 19-17, Salyng Kits beat SACO 17-15.
