Orix cricket tourney completes first round

RIYADH — First round of the Saudi Orix Cricket Tournament, which is being organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA), was completed recently.
The 38 teams participating in this event have been divided into three zones as Riyadh Cricket Zone, Al-Kharj Cricket Zone and Huraymala Cricket Zone.
In Al-Kharj Cricket Zone, Lahore Lions beat KFSH Blues by 39 runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Lahore Lions were all out for 303 in 37.2 overs. Owais played a fine innings of 105 runs. He was well supported by Mansoor 42, Muzaffar 27, Salman 26 and Omar 24. Imtiaz Butt bowled with great pace and control and took 5 wickets, while Abdul Malik chipped in with 4.
Chasing a formidable target of 304, KFSH Blues could score 264 in 40 overs. Saqib Abbasi played well and scored 66, Irshad made 60 and Nadeem Babar 40. Nawaz, Waqas, Mansoor and Jamshed got 2 wickets each.
Lahore Badshah beat Jawar Al-Jazirah by 15 runs. Batting first, Lahore Badshah made 342 in 40 overs, thanks to excellent knocks by Wahab Khan 110, Yassir 92 and Asif 54. Saleem got 3 wickets and Imran 2.
In reply, Jawar Al-Jazirah was all out for 327. Rizwan Manzoor was the top scorer with 113. The other notable contributors were Ejaz 57, Saleem 39, Javed 32 and Abbas 26.
Yassir claimed 3 wickets, while Shoaib and Irfan got 2 each.
Amir Holidays beat BSF by 115 Runs. Batting first, Amir Holidays made 339 in 40 overs. Nadeem scored 68, Sami Arshad 54, Ahtisham 54, Samiullah 44 and Kamran 37. BSF's target was adjusted to 285 in 36 overs due to delayed start after the lunch break. BSF was all out for 169 in 24 overs. Zahid made 50 and Safdar 44. Majid Khan grabbed 5 wickets.
In Al-Huraymala Cricket Zone, Green Bangla upset Riyadh Warriors. Batting first, Green Bangla scored 155 in 20 overs. Jakir was the highest scorer with 74 and Alamin made 25. Taufeeq, Ahmadullah and Abdul Ghafoor took 2 wickets each. In reply, Riyadh Warriors were all out for 142. Ayaz scored 36, while Abdul Raheem and Abdul Aziz made 29 each. Jakir and Kakon took 3 wickets each, while Aminul and Alamin grabbed 2 each.
Hyderabadi Warriors beat Combined XI by 2 wickets. Batting first, Combined XI scored 110. Shoaib made 34. Mohammed Bin Saleh took 4 wickets.
Hyderabadi Warriors lost 8 wickets in reply, but ultimately reached the target in 16.3 overs. Karim was the highest scorer with 36. Asad took 4 wickets.
Stallions beat Fuchs by 13 runs. Batting first, Stallions scored 207 in 20 overs. Asif made 48, Adnan 40, Imran 37 and Amir 31. Zakaullah and Shoaib got 2 wickets each. Fuchs made 194 in 19.2 overs when the match was stopped due to bad light. Aziz Ur Rehman scored 67, Mohsin 26 and Owais 21. Asif and Amir got 2 wickets each.
In Riyadh Cricket Zone, TBCC beat Kashmir XI by 8 wickets. Kashmir XI batted first and scored 130 in 20 overs. Hakeem Libas bowled well and recorded a hat trick. TBCC chased the target in 11.1 overs. Ashraf remained unbeaten on 66 and Faisal made 40. TCS Riyadh beat Imran XI by 61 runs.
Batting first, TCS Riyadh scored 201 in 20 overs. Ashiq made 67 and Faisal 21. Imran XI was all out for 140 in 14.3 overs. Prashant took 4 wickets and Bhuwan 2.
Seham beat Tigers by 1 wicket. Tigers scored 135 in 20 overs. Amjid took 4 wickets, while Alamgir and Masood got 2 each. Seham achieved the target in the last over. Majid scored 30 and Noor 27.
Punjab Stars beat Grundfos by 3 runs. Batting first, Punjab Stars scored 187 in 20 overs. In reply, Grundfos scored 184. Yasser made 50 and Raheel 25.
