DUBAI – The second and final day of the “FIKR11” conference opened with a futuristic word that explored the prospective of broadening the horizon between “Citizens and Government.” The closing speech by Khalid Al-Yahya, Leader of Educational Programs at King Abdulaziz Center For World Culture, aimed at spreading hope among the youth at the conference. He said, “We infer a bit of our history of ideas to better understand our roots. Indeed, our roots are not only our ancestries, but also the origin of our thoughts.” An open session entitled “Society and Governments: Cooperation and Integration” stressed the magnitude of ties between societies and governments as a basis for achieving development. The session focused on the ideas and opinions of the youth, which reflect future vision and the governments' best means to benefit from them. An open session about “Competition and Cooperation: Looking Beyond National Borders” discussed the major success prospects to activate a fruitful cooperation between Arab countries in general, and pinpoint the sectors which show more readiness for such cooperation. It also explored the major obstacles and the measures to overcome it in the midst of globalization and the information revolution. The “FIKR11” conference also tackled “Building Quality in Nationalization” and the crucial role of governments in maintaining human resources and capacities in a presentation delivered by Abdulaziz Al-Horr, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Finance and Business Academy, State of Qatar. The final session “Corporate Social Responsibility and Humanitarian Initiatives in the Arab World” discussed the means to enhance Government services, and have greater access to these services.
