PRINCE Faisal bin Mishaal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Qassim Region, honored Hassan Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, LDFO Director at Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ), during the recent Onaizah Dates Festival, in recognition of Toyota-ALJ “Hilux" sponsorship of the festival.
Thanking Prince Faisal for his compliments, Hassan Abdul Latif Jameel said: “The Qassim district makes a valuable contribution to the national economy and we are proud to sponsor this festival that celebrates date production as a vital part of Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage."
Adel Ezzat, Managing Director of Marketing at Toyota-ALJ, said: “We are delighted that the organizers have appointed the Toyota Hilux as the official car of the festival. It is an appropriate choice since it is well established as one of the most popular vehicles in the kingdom and to express our appreciation we have a number of fun activities that give festival visitors an opportunity to win prizes while demonstrating the powerful and versatile features of the Hilux 2012."
The Festival, which commenced on Aug. 23, ends today (Sept. 22).
During the past five days of the Festival, Toyota-ALJ held a number of competitions which included a racetrack obstacle course where Hilux drivers had to negotiate their way without hitting or knocking down columns; a competition for the fastest team to load and then offload dates from a Hilux, and a fastest tire changing competition.
Expressing his appreciation of Toyota-ALJ “Hilux" sponsorship, a happy Onaizah resident, Ali Hamad Alkhowaiter, said: “I have been a Hilux owner for more than 11 years and it is great that Toyota has come to Onaizah to sponsor our annual Dates Festival and help us celebrate the event with their fun events that we have all enjoyed so much."
The Onaizah Dates Festival showcases the advanced features of the Hilux 2012 which include Toyota's latest technologies to enhance the performance of the most powerful car in its class and provide maximum levels of control in the most difficult driving conditions.
Toyota-ALJ has launched the 2013 Hilux models, which are available in two versions whether single or double cab in two-wheel and four-wheel drive systems. – SG
