Mahmoud Gharib scores big win

JEDDAH — Mahmoud Gharib beat Red Hot Guys 72-64 as the 2012 JBL 2nd Conference Non-Rated Basketball Tournament resumed at Bin Mahfouz Basketball Court here recently following a two-week Ramadan break.
Mahmoud Gharib dominated the shaded area throughout the game. Jasper Jonas top scored with 29 points for the winner to clinch the JBL Player of the Game honor, while Paragas netted 16 points for the Red Hot Guys.
In another game Al-Muhaidib beat Bradley Braves 81-73. The winner was literally unstoppable in the final period as the Bradley Braves missed important baskets in the dying minutes. Gary Padernal led Al-Muhaidib with 23 points and was adjudged the Saudi Sign Player of the Game. Alturas scored 16 points for Bradley Braves.
Another game saw Marriott Hotel beat ACES 70-66. Marriott Hotel showed heart in the crucial seconds of the game as the ACES tried to reduce the margin. Samson and Creencia scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, for Marriott Hotel. Both were adjudged the Giordano Players of the Game. Diaz scored 16 points for the losers.
In Friday matches Nissan G-TR defeated STC Terabytes 77-64. Jason Villanueva top scored with 22 points for Nissan and was adjudged the Wael Sports Player of the Game. LLyod Zamora scored 16 points for the losers.
Saudia Aviation beat DHL Express 51-39. Estrella and Alegre scored 13 points apiece for the winner as both were adjudged the TFC Players of the Game. Rafael had 16 points for the losers.
Saudia Catering Company beat Jeddah Dawah Center 87-58. Pat Gonzales led Saudia Catering with 15 points and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game, while Jameel Lumanog top scored with 24 points for the loser.
Moda beat Erfan Hospital 61-56. Bertolano top scored for the winner with 27 points and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Valle scored 18 points for the losers.
Another game saw ALJ Toyota defeat Laylati 65-49. Taguba and Tayam scored 11 points apiece and both were adjudged the Giordano Players of the Game, while Allan Decella scored 16 points for Laylati.
The tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Saudi Signs, Al-Haddaf Sportsware and Wael Sports Wear.
