Noypi Industrial City (NIC) All Star clobbered Pinoy Expat 98-76 for its third consecutive win in the Giordano-JBL basketball Tournament at the Bin Mafouz basketball court at Al-Hamra District here.
The winner in their patented running game offense tore down Pinoy Expat in the final quarter. The losers tried in vain to match the onslaught of the rivals. Egos and Timi contributed 18 points apiece for the winner and were adjudged as the Giordano best players of the game while Briz had 18 points for the loser.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Giordano Fashions, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, RJM Cargo, Al-Haddaf Sports Wear and Saudi Signs & Wael Sports.
Nissan Alhamrani team of coach Francis Gallego and Blas defeated Heba Fire Fighting Equipment 68-62. The winner exhibited good teamwork in the whole game. The loser tried hard to contain the offense of Nissan with its man to man defense but the winner had tactics to outsmart the rival. Jason Villanueva and Magat topscored with 18 points apiece for Nissan Alhamrani. Balderas was adjudged as the TFC best player of the game for his last minute heroic baskets for Nissan while Creencia scored 15 points for the loser.
In Friday games, NCB won by default against Knights and Ulpans. NCB vying for a triple tie for the second spot in the championship crown came well-prepared but Knights and Ulpans did not show up for the game. An unsportsmanlike behavior was recorded against Knights and Ulpans. NCB is waiting for the result of the game between Saudi Diyar, STC DSL, Bupa Arabia Pinoy Me and Nissan Alhamrani.
RJM Cargo of Jag Malit beat Bradley 40 82-71. The winner led by 17 points by second quarter. Bardley 40 of Hercky Mendoza and Ed Diaz applied their trapping defense and brought down the lead to 4 points in the final quarter.
RJM Cargo immediately called for a time out to regroup. RJM Cargo then applied slow break offense and iced its third win in four outings. Lacsinto topscored with 21 points for the winner and was adjudged as the Wael sportsware best player of the game while Miguel Diaz had 27 points for the loser.
