Sony new cameras deliver unprecedented performance
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 07 - 2012

SONY, the leading consumer electronics brand, rolled out nine new Cyber-shot cameras including the WX series (DSC-WX100, WX150), HX series (DSC-HX200V, HX20V, HX10V), W690, TX series (DSC-TX20, TX66), and H series (H90), which offer superior optical performance in some of the world's slimmest and lightest cameras ever designed.
The world's smallest and lightest camera in its class2, DSC-WX100 takes full advantage of the newly-developed Advanced Aspherical (AA) lens, which dramatically reduces camera body thickness to as slim as 17.5mm3 while increasing optical performance to deliver amazing image quality. The new 10x optical lens (25-250mm) captures wide expanses and dramatic zoom shots, enhanced by Clear Image Zoom for 20x zoom while resolution is maintained.
The Cyber-Shot HX20V features 20x optical zoom, a new 18.2 megapixel (effective) Exmor R CMOS sensor, Optical SteadyShot and Sony's AA lens element; perfect for taking beautiful, blur-free pictures or movies at any distance. The HX20V includes a new GPS log recording function, which allows users to track and log location details of photos captured away from home.
Like the WX150 and WX100, the Cyber-shot DSC-W690 achieves excellent performance in a stunningly slim body just 17.5mm thick at the slimmest part - the world's thinnest for a CCD-based digital camera with 10x optical zoom - driven by its newly developed AA lens element. The W690 offers a 16.1 effective mega pixel Super HAD CCD, 10x optical zoom G Lens (25-250mm), improved Optical SteadyShot, and 360 Sweep Panorama.
The Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 combines exceptional durability and performance in a slim and stylish design. Waterproof, dustproof, shock and low temperature resistant, the TX20 can be used in a range of challenging environments, producing consistently high quality photos and Full HD movies with its 16.2 effective mega pixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and Optical SteadyShot (Active Mode). – SG
