‘Thinnest' camera attracts buffs
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 11 - 2009

Mahmood Saleh Abbar Co., distributor of Casio Computer Co. Ltd. products in Saudi Arabia, has launched the much-awaited new ultra-compact superzoom digital camera from Casio.
Casio Exilim EX-H10, the 12.1 megapixel camera which the company claims as the world's thinnest and lightest camera in the compact long zoom product range as of now.
At the Casio dealers convention held at the Radisson SAS hotel here on Saturday, Yoshiyuki Uehara, Casio manager of Planning Section, DSC Sales Department, Overseas Sales Division, said Casio “is committed to revolutionizing world of digital photography.”
He said driven by Casio's philosophy of “creativity and contribution,” the company always introduces innovative product “that was never before in the market.” And Exilim EX-H10 proves it once again. The latest Exilim camera incorporates battery life of 1,000 shots and ultra-wide angle 24mm lens with 10x optical zoom to enhance user's photography experience.
“Our high-end Exilim series has been a runaway success across the continents. The EX-H10 is the latest addition to Exilim series and thanks to the breakthrough features, especially long-life battery that allows up to 1,000 shots on a single battery charge, it will make the perfect travel companion,” Uehara explained.
Exilim H10 includes advanced Dynamic Photo function that is able to create composite moving images thanks to its high-speed image processing technology.
“When a moving subject is cut out of a number of images and combined with a different still shot that forms the background, the size of the subject can be changed to suit the background image,” he said.
Moreover, Uehara said since the introduction of the first digital camera in 1995, the quest for more technological advancement and refinement in the product seems unstoppable, with production reaching 130 million units this year. And Casio leads the pack, he added.
Casio recorded net sales of $5.8 billion in March 2009, he noted.
Demonstrating its functions, Shingo Yamaga, Casio marketing manager in Dubai, said the Dynamic Photo video can easily be converted in-camera into Motion JPEG movie file. Moreover, moving graphics like hearts and bouquets of flowers are included so that users can have fun decorating their photos using the Dynamic Photo function.
The EX-H10 has recently won the EISA Award 2009-2010 in the European Travel Compact Camera category.
Casio Exilim EX-H10's outstanding features include large 3-inch TFT LCD with 960 x 240 pixels resolution, CCD-shift image stabilization and high ISO 3200 sensitivity, Exilim Engine 4.0 for higher image quality & lower power consumption, 10x optical zoom, 24mm wide angle lens to squeeze more in each shoot, and new Landscape Mode including Vivid Landscape option and Mist Removal option for capturing beautiful scenic photography.
