Petro Rabigh, Toyota make JBL semifinals

Petro Rabigh made the JBL semifinals beating Marhaba 80-78 at the Bin Mafouz basketball court in Jeddah recently.
Both teams played good offense. Marhaba had a chance to take the game into overtime, but missed the opportunity. Domingo topscored with 24 points for Petro Rabigh, being coached by Melo Agpalo, and was adjudged the Giordano Player of the Game, while Creencia bagged 24 points for Marhaba.
The tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Al-Haddaf Sports Wear (Bayoumi), Wael Sports Wear (Noel) and Saudi Signs (Sam Adora).
Toyota Genuine Parts also made it to the semifinals beating MD Construction 83-70. The constructors showed good teamwork to make inroads through the MD defense in the final quarter. Yousuf Antonio scored 18 points for Toyota and was adjudged the Al-Haddaf Player of the Game. Platin single-handedly carried the MD Construction with his conference-high 30 points.
United Smat Jeddamonz scored an 83-76 win over Al-Khorayef. The winner played steady offense in the crucial two minutes of the game. Rex Ablaza led United with 28 points and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game while Cabales topscored with 16 points for Al-Khorayef.
In Friday matches Tema beat Friday Club 68-57 to score its first win. Tema needed to beat Jeddah Eagles by 10 points to secure the last berth in the semifinals. Friday Club played its offense well but lost steam in the crucial two minutes of the game. JC Dela Cruz topscored with 23 points for Tema and was adjudged the Wael Sports Player of the Game, while Primo Labayne scored 18 points for Friday Club.
Nissan Alhamrani caught Marhaba in its off night 72-58. Marhaba tried hard to contain its rivals' offense but continued to miss crunch jumpers. Estrella topscored with 17 points for Alhamrani to claim the JBL Player of the Game award. Creencia led the losing side with 19 points.
Maya International beat Leylati 91-64 to secure a seat in the semifinals. Maya was unstoppable and Leylati lost hope in the fourth quarter. Castillo scored 29 points for Maya and was adjudged the Saudi Sign Player of the Game, while Revil led the losers with 22 points. __
