The Makkah General Court has decided on the dispute of two brothers who were both seeking custody of their mother. The siblings left the court happy. The younger brother filed the case against his brother asking the court to grant him the right to bring his mother home because his brother was himself too old to take care of her. The elder brother, 75, objected and asked the court to let his mother stay with him until he dies, saying that he was still capable of taking care of her, the Al-Madina daily reported. When the judge asked the mother — in front of the sibling — which of her sons she wanted to stay with, she said she loved them both and would not make a choice. The judge decided to grant the younger brother custodial rights as his brother was too old and himself needed someone to take care of him. Sheikh Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, who was at the court, said he was moved by the scene when the two siblings hugged each other and left the court smiling.
