Hyderabadi Warriors, Panthers shine in RCA

Riyadh Panthers beat Crescent by 49 runs in Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) Shehryar Mirza Memorial Tournament here recently.
Batting first, Riyadh Panthers scored 248-2 in 20 overs. Raza scored 72, Tauseef 52 and Yasir 51. In reply, Crescent was bundled out for 199. Aurangzaib and Shoaib of Panthers took two wickets each.
In another encounter Hyderabadi Warriors beat Riyadh Fighters by six wickets. Riyadh Fighters put on 177 runs with Imran Butt scoring 50. Warriors' Aurangzaib took five wickets. The Warriors achieved the target in 18.1 overs thanks to half centuries by Syed Nasir and Abdul Mannan. In the Super League 40-over match, Pak Shaheen beat Ayoun Al-Badr by six wickets. Ayoun Al-Badr scored 236. Wajid Rehman was in great form and scored 107. Abdul Wahab of Pak Shaheen took five wickets. Pak Shaheen reached the target in 30 overs. Ijaz scored 92 and Wahab 58 runs.
In another Super League match, Lahore Lions beat Fuchs by 145 runs. Lahore Lions scored 387 in 40 overs. Salman Butt scored 140 and Omar Zafar 90. In reply, Fuchs scored 242. Muhammad Usman of Fuchs scored 110 but could not save his team from defeat.
In another match, Saham beat Tigers by 35 runs. Saham scored 212 after electing to bat. Waseem and Nadeem scored 72 each. In reply Tigers could only manage 177.
Knight Riders beat Amir Holidays by five wickets. Batting first, Amir Holidays scored 214. Shahbaz scored 91 and Samiullah 60. Knight Riders chased the target successfully with fine batting performance from Karim, Bilal, Ejaz and Abdulrahman scoring 33, 58, 43 and 29 respectively.
The last semifinal of the RCA Fuchs Cup 2012 between Al-Hamra and Attieh Steel ended in a nail-bitting finish. Batting first Al-Hamra scored 189 in 20 overs. Izhar Turab remained unbeaten on 46, Zahid Mir scored 42 and Sarfraz 36, while Asif Butt took three wickets. Attieh Steel could muster only 188 in 20 overs, falling short of target by 1 run. Asif Butt scored 48 runs, while Ejaz Sulaiman of Al-Hamra took two wickets.
In the last round match of Abdul Qadeer Mirza Trophy, Pak Shaheen beat KFSH Blues by seven wickets. Batting first KFSH Blues scored 183-8 in 20 overs. Nasir Abbasi was the highest scorer with 44, Khurram scored 37 and Fakhar 29. Pak Shaheen chased the target in 17 overs. The final of the tournament will be played between KFSH Blues and Pak Shaheen.
An Intercity event has also been arranged where RCA will play EPCA on March 29 and 30. Four teams from EPCA will visit Riyadh and play matches against RCA teams.
