PPP plays its part

AN efficient partnership between the public and the private sectors is crucial for enhancing communication and exchanging experiences. It helps introduce the best practices in the health sector and adopt the latest technologies and services. It also helps introduce significant initiatives and competitions in order to spread health awareness among the Saudi community.
The Wa'i Award, launched by the Ministry of Health and represented by the Awareness Department, highlighted the positive cooperation between the two sectors. The award included individuals, companies and charities. The competition aims at raising the health awareness of all members of the society in order to reduce the risk of diseases, while increasing activity and health awareness. The competition was spilt into four categories: short films, photographs, designing and drawing.
Based on the directives of the Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, regarding health education among the various segments of the society, Nahdi affirms its intention to be the strategic health partner for the community in the long term.
An awareness program centered around the citizens and residents of the Kingdom at various levels will help intensify the efforts to protect and care for the individuals and the society at large in all aspects related to health and beauty.
Enhancing health awareness among various segments of the society and encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle is the key message that Nahdi Medical aims to spread. Through every campaign or initiative, Nahdi aims to improve the quality of people's lives through dedicated programs that are focused towards increasing the knowledge within the community.
The initiative is pegged under the name "Pulse of Hope" which is aimed at reaching out to people with a host of initiatives within the Social Sustainability Strategy, focused towards enhancing the lives of 5 million people by 2020.
The "Pulse of Hope" program is based on three pillars: Promoting responsibility and management of diabetes while improving vaccination rates to reduce preventable diseases, promoting healthy lifestyle through nutrition and fitness to reduce obesity rate across the country and finally promoting mother and child care initiatives, which aims at maternal and infant wellness and health, bridging the knowledge gap of nurturing the child's growing mind and body, and enhancing motherhood skills.
Nahdi boasts great confidence in the Ministry of Health as one of the most reliable health care providers in the private sector. The response to the Wa'i competition is an affirmation of the depth of public-private partnership for the benefit of society. We believe that the safety of an individual in society means the safety of the future of this country, which can only be achieved by intensifying the awareness programs through competitions and events in which everyone participates and equally contributes.
It is worth mentioning that Nahdi is committed to instill hope among all segments of Saudi society. Through its educational initiatives, Nahdi aims at providing superior healthcare services to Saudis in order to accomplish the vision of creating a healthier and more prosperous society. It is working to expand its partnership with the Ministry of Health in order to contribute towards the Vision 2030.
Nahdi is a Saudi retail pharmacy chain that was founded by Sheikh Abdullah Amer Al Nahdi in 1986 as a sole proprietorship. In 2004, the company witnessed an important transitional phase whereby it became a limited liability company and from then on it was recognized as a vital part of the healthcare sector in the Kingdom. The journey of expansion continued with a clear vision, and has now placed Nahdi as the largest pharmacy retail chain in the Middle East and North Africa, where it represents many of the world's major medical companies.
Today, Nahdi manages and operates a nation-wide network of pharmacies making it one of the most prevalent and fastest growing companies in the region, which offers the finest product range, including cosmetics, baby care and medical equipment. In addition to the high-quality healthcare products and services it offers, Nahdi is keen to provide community service and health awareness and preventative campaigns. Nahdi follows the concept of acting as a "community pharmacy," where it does not solely serve the community, but also educates it.
