Nahdi wins Gulf Sustainability and CSR Award
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 18 - 04 - 2017

NAHDI, Saudi Arabia's leading retail pharmacy chain, ranked second in the Learning and Education Programmes category of the Gulf Sustainability and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Awards 2016. The new achievement reflects Nahdi's diligent efforts to apply best international practices to its CSR, natural resources conservation, and sustainable development programs.
The awards provide recognition for companies and individuals implementing outstanding sustainability and CSR initiatives across the region. They aim to support organizations and businesses to share best practice, promote CSR, and implement programs for continuous improvement, learning, competitiveness, and development.
As part of its commitment to raise public health awareness and help educate diabetics across the Kingdom, Nahdi Medical Company has established "diabetes corners" at some of its pharmacies. This programme, the first of a kind in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, has been accredited by the Ministry of Health and Joslin Diabetes Center of Harvard Medical School. It aims to educate diabetics and enable them to control blood sugar. The interactive initiative seeks to help create a community where individuals enjoy a healthy lifestyle, in line with Nahdi's "Pulse of Hope" strategy, designed to support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes health education and comprehensive care.
Nahdi CEO, Yasser Joharji, expressed pride in this new achievement.
"I would like to thank the Gulf Sustainability and CSR Awards 2016 for granting us this award, as well as all Nahdi employees for their diligence, which has contributed to this advanced ranking, locally, regionally, and internationally. Nahdi is a community pharmacy working in line with well-studied plans to advance healthcare programs under Saudi Vision 2030," Joharji said.
"Nahdi's new strategy aims to serve the community by transforming into a true community pharmacy offering patient-centred care. We address people's health problems and challenges, understand their needs, and help improve their medical conditions," he added.
