RIYADH – The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced that one of its helicopters crashed on Tuesday morning in the eastern Yemeni province of Marib, killing 12 Saudi officers, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The Coalition Forces Command in Support of Legitimacy in Yemen said in a statement that a Black Hawk helicopter of the Saudi Armed Forces crashed while on a mission in Marib governorate. "The crash resulted in the martyrdom of four officers and eight rank officers of the Saudi Armed Forces. Investigations are underway to determine the causes of the accident," the statement added. Meanwhile, five Saudi citizens were injured in Houthi attacks in the southern border region of Najran on Tuesday. Residential villages in Najran were hit by military projectiles fired by Houthi militias from across the Yemeni border, according to Capt. Abdullah Al-Farie, spokesman of Civil Defense Directorate in Najran region. The injured, who included one woman and a girl child, were taken to a nearby hospital, SPA reported. In a related development, the Arab Coalition Air Defense Forces intercepted four ballistic missiles launched by Houthi militias and fighters allied to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Monday night. These missiles, that were successfully intercepted without causing any damage, were intended to target the coastal city of Mokha in western Yemen. Arab coalition Air Forces have also bombed outposts controlled by Houthi militias in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a, according to Al Arabiya News Channel.
