JEDDAH — Amjad Butt's rampant century ousted IDB Group from the race for the last four as Crown Steel downed MCC in the WPCA Premier Tournament T20. Yasir ensured Nestle Milo top the group as WPCA Afternoon Tournament reached the quarterfinal stage.
Premier T20
Crown Steel thrashed MCC by 101 runs. Crown Steel racked up a mammoth 251-4. Khurram Karamat hit 35. Imran Azam top scored by remaining unbeaten 72 off 34 balls. He first added 64 with Javed Iqbal (40) and then 66 with Shafaqat (47). MCC responded with 150. Khalid Butt stroked 30, Ali 43 and Ahsan 30. Shoaib Ali grabbed 3-28.
Zultec downed IDB Group by 28 runs after tallying 265-4. Amjad Jutt in a rampaging form remained unbeaten on 115 off 39 balls studded with 9 sixes and 9 fours. He first added 71 with Niyas (16) and then 74 with Abu Huraira. Earlier, Waqar hit 31 to add 100 with Amir Sajjad compiling 65 in 29 balls.
IDB Group was stranded at 237-5. Aziz blasted 37 and Irfan Shah 24. Usman Gulab smashed 86 in 46 balls with 4 sixes and 8 fours. Shabbir (39) tried his best too. Waheed Khan took 2 wickets.
ALS Warriors trounced Crown Steel by 26 runs. ALS Warriors piled up 202-6. Mohammed Khan stroked 47 and Humayun Khan 62, Fahad 24 and Talha unbeaten 43. Ijaz Sagheer and Azeem claimed 2 wickets each.
Crown Steel was stranded at 176-9. Khurram Karamat smashed 57, Shafaqat 20 and Azeem unbeaten 23. Abdulaleem grabbed 3-41 and Haider 2.
Zultec won against AOT by 8 runs. Zultec put on 204-9. Aamir Sajjad hammered 55, Waqar 36 and Shahbaz Rasheed 63. Mustafa took 3-26 and Moiz 2.
AOT was stranded at 196. Rafeeq blasted 70 in 37 balls with 8 fours and a six. Gulam Mustafa made 26, Maqsood 23 and Naeem Shah 26.
Nestle Milo defeated Aftab XI by 4 wickets. Undefeated Aftab XI produced 218-4. Shahid Sattar hammered 77 in 37 balls with 6 sixes and 5 fours. He added 114 with Waqas (45). Waqas Riyaz hit 25, Waseem Riyaz 27 and Danish unbeaten 16.
Nestle Milo reached 219-6 in 111 balls. Dr. Yasir Ahmed changed the complexion of the game as he slammed 14 sixes and 3 fours to compile 121 in 48 balls. He added 123 for the 5th wicket with Bilal Iqbal (31) to win after being reduced to 65-4.
In the matches played a week before, Fuchs Alhamrani won against APF by one wicket. APF posted 163-7. Majed Khan stroked 40, Ehtesham 22, Siddique 46 and Umar 20. Saqib scalped 3-35.
Fuchs Alhamrani replied with 165-9. Ghafour Shah hit 27, Nazaish 40, Khoban 27 and Saqib unbeaten 22. Siddique took 4-19, Umar 3-40 and Tariq 2.
Waqas Malik trounced Thales Group by 8 wickets. Thales Group was bowled out for 119.
Waheed made 25. Abdulrazzak grabbed 4-32, while Faizi and Atif Ali took 2 each.
Waqas Malik won the match making 122-2. Rana Haroon compiled an unbeaten 50 and Waqas Malik 49.
Lothers had the better of Jotun Paints by 5 wickets. Jotun Paints crashed to 124. Shabbir made 40 and Sohail 23. Mouazzam Shoukat grabbed 3-21, Iftekhar 3-28 and Shafeer Ali 2.
Lothers made 127-5 in 84 balls. Moazzam Shoukat hit 45 and Yasar 34. Akram and Qasim had 2 scalps each.
Gujarat Eagles thrashed Continental Transport by 57 runs. Gujarat Eagles piled up 186-5. Sajaad scored 27, Muzammil 45, Ilyas 26, Rashid 20 and Mukhtar 40. Manoj took 2.
Continental Transport Company was bowled out for 129. Gaurav stroked 40 and Anas 25. Ahmed took 3-31 and Amjad 2.
In other matches, Aftab XI beat El Seif by 52 runs and Zultrack humbled Al-Safri by 9 wickets.
