Nazar Guys, Azizia XI, UBCC and Gulbarga advance

JEDDAH — In one of the biggest upsets of this season's Jeddah Premier League (JPL), a charged up Aziza XI sent the tournament favorite IOE packing.
Batting first, Azizia XI was made to work hard as it managed to post 139-8 in the allotted 16 overs. But their bowlers displayed excellent skill to bundle out the more fancied IOE for a paltry 116 to book its spot in the Super 16 round.
Kingdom CC, one of the in-form teams expected to make it to the quarters, failed to live up to the expectations as it lost to a fired up Nazar Guys by 2 wickets. Batting first, Kingdom CC, scored 130-7 as Fainas and Mazhar Yasin picked up 2 wickets each. In reply, Nazar Guys reached the target with 2 overs to spare as Man-of-the-Match Ijaz Raja 4 sixes in 4 deliveries to guide his team home.
The tournament is sponsored by Dream India Group, a real estate development company from Hyderabad. The co-sponsors are Sunshine School (Hyderabad, India), Mahmood Saeed Beverage Industry, Elite Business Group, Paradise Hotel, Parvaz Hotel, Bawarchi Hotel, Khind, Halwani, Fusion 9 and Nestle.
The tourney is organized by Jeddah Premier League (JPL) under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC).
Morning session
Telangana Warriors, batting first, were all out for 67 in 13.2 overs. In reply, ICC Royals reached 69-6 in 9.5 overs. Manaf was named the Man of the Match for his 29 runs and 2 wickets.
Azizia XI posted 139-8 in 16 overs. IOE was bowled out for 116 in 15.3 overs. Nayeem was selected as the Man of the Match for his 42 runs in 32 balls.
Kingdom Cricket Club, batting first, scored 130-7. In reply, Nazar Guys, reached 134-8 in 14 overs. Ijaz was selected the Man of the Match for his 4 towering sixes in 4 deliveries.
KSA Yellow, tallied 90-6 in 16 overs, in reply, RC Mangalore, chased the target (91-4) in 9.3 overs. Shamer Ahmed, was named the Man of the Match for his 31 runs and 2 wickets.
Afternoon session
Friends Cricket Club was humbled Barkatiya XI by 37 runs. Friends Cricket Club put on 151-6. In reply, Barkatiya XI was restricted to 114-9 in 16 overs. Faraz was declared the Man of the Match for his 52 runs.
Gulbarga CC, batting first, made 134. Khind, in reply, was bowled out for 115 in 15.5 overs. Habeeb was named the Man of the Match for his 59 runs in just 28 balls.
Coastal Gladiator thumped KSA Blue by 19 runs. Coastal Gladiator, batting first, posted 123-9. In reply, KSA Blue was bundled out for 107 in 15.3 overs. Faizan was declared the Man of the Match for his 3 wickets.
UBCC routed Azizia Deccan by 2 wickets. Azizia Deccan, batting first, scored 140-4. In reply, UBCC reached 141-8 in 15.2 overs. UBCC's Basheer Sultan who hit 26 runs in 10 balls, was named the Man of the Match.
