Al-Max, Lothers, Young Star and Kanoo Logistics enter quarters

JEDDAH — Al-Max Cricket Club, Lothers Cricket Club, Young Star and Kanoo Logistics qualified for the quarterfinals of the ninth Jotun Paints TCF Champions Trophy 2017 at BMT Ground here recently.
The tournament trophy is being named after main sponsor Jotun Paints. The event is also supported by Holiday Inn Jeddah Gateway, Turkish Airlines, Bupa Arabia, 3 Horses, Al-Hokair Group, FSN, Kool Dezign and Futurelite.
The ninth tournament is organized by TCF under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC).
Al-Max Cricket Club thrashed UTSC KPL by 58 runs. Opting to bat first, Al-Max was all out for 117 in 9.3 overs. It reached 41 in just 2.5 overs. Mohammed Sarfan scored 32 from 13 balls and Zaheer 19 from 11. Assim Shahid hit 18. Hisham Taha recorded a hat trick and Nirshad bowled brilliantly for 4 wickets.
In reply, Al-Max bowlers restricted UTSC KPL to 59 in 10 overs. Assim Shahid took 5 wickets and won the Man of the Match award.
Tournament favorites Lothers CC thrashed Arcoma Crown by 8 wickets. Arcoma won the toss and put on 92-5 in 10 overs. Opener Dinesha Raju remained unbeaten on 28 and Mohammed Ayazuddeen scored 19. Hussain Rizwi took 2 wickets and Zar Khan 1.
Opener Waqas Ali single-handedly won the match for Lothers by scoring a magnificent 70 in just 20 balls with 10 sixes. Man of the Match — Waqas Ali.
Former champion and another favorite Young Star beat a strong Jotun Penguins by 6 wickets. Put into bat, Young Star bowlers restricted Jotun to 81 in 10 overs. Ramzan Ali scored 26 and Mohammed Shams 21. Furkhan and Abu Huraira bowled brilliantly and took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Amir Siddique scored at will for 47 not out from 22 balls with 7 sixes. Waqas Ahmed grabbed 2 wickets for Jotun.

Kanoo Logistics defeated Pepsi Alliance by 7 wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, Pepsi posted 96. Humayoon hit 29 from 15 balls and Mazhar Abbasi 20 from 11 balls. Safayar took 3 wickets for Kanoo Logistics.
Safayer and Farsath attacked the Pepsi bowlers straight away. Kanoo chased down the target in 8.3 overs by losing 3 wickets. Farsath remained not out on 40 from 28 and Safayer made 29 from 12 balls.

McDonalds CC beat Tetra Pak Leaf by 8 wickets. Tetra Pak 95-6 (10) (Mohd Azhar 22 (15), Mozaam 18(16); Dilan 6-2, Bushan 8-2, Afthab 22-2). McDonalds CC 98-2 (8) (Salim Malik 32 (23), Aftab 15). Man of the Match – Afthab.
