Iqbal House emerges tops in quiz contest

Zaira Tehseen of class XII-C (Iqbal House) won the annual Interhouse Quiz Competition at Pakistan International School, Riyadh-Senior Girls Wing(I) and was awarded with the title, "Genius of PISR(SGW-I)", a sash and a crown.
Hifza Ahmad of class X-E (Iqbal House) and Fatima Manzoor of class XII-E (Abdul Qadeer House) secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in a keenly-contested event that judged the knowledge and sharpened the learning skills of the students.
The program started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Sohaila Hafiz and Wardah Naveed of class XII -D. A total number of 20 students from five houses participated in this contest. It was a syllabus-based quiz competition.
A session of open house quiz was also organized to test the general knowledge of the audience and prizes were given to them. Abdul Qadeer House won the trophy of 1st position, Iqbal House stood 2nd and Jinnah House achieved 3rd position in the contest.
Wing Incharge Ms. Fizzah Shahid thanked the chief guest and all members of staff for their presence and participation in conducting the competition successfully. Vice Principal (G) Ms.Sarwat Iqbal congratulated the prize winners and advised them to prepare well for their forthcoming exams.
Ms. Tasneem Amjad, chief guest, distributed the prizes among position holders and all other participants. She addressed the students and suggested them to lead their lives on the principles of sincerity and dedication. The program ended with national anthem.
In SBW-1, Chief Guest was Head of Chancery Shah Faisal Kakar. The function was presided over by Vice Principal Prof. Gohar Rafique. Prof. Rana Asif, the chief organizer of the program threw light on the objective and aim of the function.
Students were distributed in five houses and four students from each house participated. It was very interesting and informative program. There were four rounds in this program. In these rounds, questions about Seerat Al-Nabi (PBUH) General Knowledge, Islamiyat and different Science subjects were asked. To make the program more interesting, at in end of each round, a question from audience in the hall was asked.
First position went to Abdul Aziz House and won the trophy. Fahad Sagheer was declared champion of Quiz competition. Ahmad Bajwa secured second position. Taqi Haider secured third position.
The Chief Guest said that he was thankful to all who provide him a chance to attend. He recalled his past and was absorbed in memories of his school. He advised the students to show respect to their teachers and parents. "Life is bumpy ride and you should make continuous effort to get success," he said.
Principal Prof. Tahir Raza Abid thanked the chief guest for attending the event. He said the school has earmarked lot of activities for the betterment of student. Debate, Quiz and Sports play very important role in forming the character and personality of students. He said, taining and learning run parallel in our school, while appreciating the role of teachers in guiding the students.
At the end of the function the chief guest was presented a shield.
In J.G.W., Quiz contest was held under the supervision of Principal Professor Tahir Raza Abid, Vice Principal Ms. Sarwat Iqbal and Wing Incharge Ms. Ashifa Masood. Vice Principal was the Chief Guest of the function. The competition was held among the students of Grade-III and Grade-IV students. These students were divided into four groups. These groups were named after the renowned women of our country.
Maria Toor group got the first position in the competition while second and third positions were obtained by Malala Yousaf Zai and Ayesha Farooq groups respectively. Iman Ali of class IV-G got the first position in the competition, while second position was obtained by Iman Arshad of IV-D and third position was secured by Khadija Adnan of III G.
Ms. Sarwat Iqbal acknowledged the efforts of Wing Incharge as well as staff members for conducting such a magnificent event. She also congratulated the winners of the competition and advised to always take part in such activities.
Ms. Ashifa Masood thanked the chief guest for gracing the function.
As per schedule, annual Inter-house Quiz Competition was held in PISR SGW-2 under the supervision of W.I. Ms. Aqeela Zeb. Ms. Nabila Saeed and Ms. Khadija Jannat — the organizers of the program. Vice Principal Ms. Sarwat Iqbal was the chief guest. The duty of being the judge was performed by Ms. Shehnaz Kausar, Ms. Rafia Niazi and Ms. Tahira Masood.
The program began with the recitation of verses from Holy Qur'an by Naama Fazal of 6th G. Naat e Rasool was presented by Anood Fazal of 6th G. Waniya Nasir of 7th K presented the previous year's report. Altogether 10 students; 2 from each of the 5 houses participated.
Areeha Zulfiqar of Iqbal house secured 1st position while there was a tie between Momina Nasir of A. Aziz House and Areeba Fatima of Jinnah house for 2nd position. There was a speed round to break the tie. Momina Nasir secured 2nd while Areeba Fatima got 3rd position. During the program, some students presented a tableau.
W.I. Ms. Aqeela Zeb thanked the honorable guests for attending and admired the hard work of the organizers and their team for holding such an excellent program. The winners and participants were awarded with trophies, certificates and prizes.
