PISR conducts commendation ceremony

RIYADH — Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor Ul Haq, while appreciating the role of teachers, stressed that he was making every effort regarding the building of the Pakistan International School Riyadh (PISR) at the Annual Commendation Ceremony 2016 held at Senior Boys Wing and Senior Girls Wing.
Haq urged the teachers to play their role in forming and building a good society while assuring all that he would cooperate and try his level best to solve the problems of school. The event was held to encourage and appreciate the students for showing remarkable results in the annual examination of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad, Pakistan.
In SBW Talha Tahir, a student of X-F recited Surah Al-Rahman and Hafiz Farhan Ahsan sang a Naat. Two students, Zain Arif and Ahmad Bajwa were the of stage secretaries. Then Vice Principal Prof. Gohar Rafique presented last year's progress report and welcomed all the participants. He also thanked the chief guest Manzoor Ul Haq for encouraging students with his presence.
In Federal Board HSSC Examination Anass Nazeer got overall first position in school as well as in all Middle East schools and was at eighth position in engineering group in FBISE by securing 1,021 marks out of 1,100. Zaid Saleem won second position in school. Nazeer urged the students to burn the midnight oil and to bring credit to the names of their parents. He made it clear that for improvement, cooperation between parents and teachers was necessary.
Link Officer Muhammad Hassan Wazir and Vice Principal Rafique then distributed the prizes and certificates among the students who showed distinction in SSC-II Examination. Then, Manzoor Ul Haq, and Principal Prof. Tahir Raza Abid gave away prizes and certificates to the students. The teachers who showed 100% or above the Federal Board results, were given shields and certificates.
A tableau was also performed on the stage by students of Junior Boys Wing. It was very interesting and captivating.
Abid, in his address, threw light on the problems faced by the school. He declared this school "The School of Community". "Students from all areas of Pakistan are admitted. Almost all the students are accommodated. Our doors are open for all," he said while congratulating the successful students and urging them to work hard.
Finally, shields to Link Officer Muhammad Hassan Wazir and Manzoor Ul Haq were presented by the principal. The event reached to its end with national anthem.
In Senior Girls Wing Mrs. Nighat Manzoor, wife of Haq was the chief guest. The program started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an.
Wing Incharge Mrs. Fizzah Shahid welcomed the audience, presented the report of previous year and informed that, in the current year, Senior Girls Wing (I) secured 95.6% results at HSSC level and 90% results at SSC(II) level which was possible by the untiring efforts of teachers.
On this occasion chief guest awarded the certificates, trophies and medals to the students. Teachers were also honored with shields and certificates. Mrs. Nighat Manzoor ul Haq laid great stress on students to study hard to get success in life and advised them to show respect to their parents and teachers.
Vice principal (G), Mrs. Sarwat Iqbal said, "The school, despite its limited resources, is imparting quality education to the students. She thanked the chief guest and all other members from Pakistani community for attending.
During the program, students highlighted the culture of Pakistan and other neighboring countries by presenting beautiful tableaus and poem.
