Young Star, Habib XI, Lothers and ALJ Toshiba advance

Four thrilling matches each were played Friday and Saturday in the 3rd week action of the Jotun Cup Big Bang Corporate League here recently.
Young Star, Habib XI, Lothers and ALJ Toshiba qualified for the playoffs.
ALJ Toshiba beat Indomie Dragons by 41 runs in the first match. ALJ scored 125 in 10 overs and restricted Indomie Dragons to 84-8. Bilal was declared the Zam Zam Man of the Match for his 16 runs and 2 wickets.
In the second match, AVK pulled off an exciting 5-wicket victory over JP Warriors thanks to a scintillating unbeaten knock of 73 by Zaheer. JP Warriors batting posted 125-2 in 10 overs with Khurram A top scoring with 65 n.o. Chasing 126, Zaheer fought the lone battle and took AVK to a well-deserved win. He was awarded the Zam Zam Man of the Match.
Young Star downed IDB by 44 runs in the third match. Young Star scored 116-7 in 10 overs. IDB chasing 117 was restricted to 72-9 in 10 overs. Irfan was adjudged the Zam Zam Man of the Match for his 50.
Lothers thrashed Jotun Penguins in the fourth match by 5 wickets. Jotun Penguins set a target of 114 for Lothers, which chased it down in 9.2 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Zawahir was declared the Zam Zam Man of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 51.
The following day, IDB pulled of a comfortable 48-run win over JP Warriors despite Ahson's 43 and 5-wicket haul. IDB put on 152-7 in 10 overs with Mazher Abbasi hitting 56 and Moazzam 38. In reply, JP Warriors could manage only 104-8. Mazher Abbasi was declared the Zam Zam Man of the Match.
Young Star piled up the highest total of 242 with Abu Huraira hitting the first hundred of the tournament. Batting first Young Star scored 242-1 with Abu Huraira's entertaining knock of 100 off 26 balls. Captain Rafaqat remained unbeaten on 69. GSAL was restricted to 109-1 with Manan unbeaten on 49 and Jaideep on 26. Abu Huraira was declared the Zam Zam Man of the Match.
In the third match of the day, Indomie scored 96-9. Jotun Penguins achieved the target in 7 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. The Zam Zam Man of the Match honor was awarded to Shahnawaz Ahmed for his match-winning 51.
ALJ pulled of a thrilling win over Habib XI by 11 runs and qualified for the playoffs. Batting first, ALJ made 123-5 and Habib XI lost the match in the last over by 11 runs. Aftab Ahmed was adjudged the Zam Zam Man of the Match for his all-round performance of 33 runs and 3 wickets.
