Riyadh set to host the 2nd Gulf Arrhythmia Congress

The 2nd Gulf Arrhythmia Congress (GAC), the official scientific sessions of the Saudi Heart Rhythm Society (SHRS) and Gulf Heart Rhythm Society (GHRS), will be launched in Riyadh on Jan. 13-14 at Movenpick Hotel. GAC is the result of the aligned visions of two professional societies to organize a state-of-the-science meeting in the Gulf and wider region highlighting the latest developments in the field of arrhythmia and cardiac electrophysiology. This joint meeting targeted electrophysiologists and other professionals associated with the management of cardiac arrhythmias. It is planned to grow this meeting into the flagship arrhythmia congress in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region.
Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Musaad, President of the Saudi Heart Rhythm Society, said: "We believe that the 2nd GAC provides a unique view into the latest in arrhythmia innovations through the eyes of the experts in the field."
Moreover, Dr. Al-Musaad said the "largest heart rhythm event in the Gulf, the 2nd Gulf Arrhythmia Congress provides unrivalled opportunity for healthcare professionals interested in the management of arrhythmias to share effective practice, show case innovation, learn about latest developments and network with Saudi, Gulf, Middle East, Turkey, Europe & USA international delegates. With a medical exhibition running throughout, 2nd GAC focuses on improving patients' outcomes by uniting all healthcare professionals."
The main mission of the conference focused on the ways sought to promote excellence in the care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias by improving the education of physicians and allied professionals in charge of arrhythmia patients, provide information on rhythm disturbances to general public, show case innovation and learn about latest developments and network with Saudi, regional & international delegates.
During the last 10 years, the field of electrophysiology has witnessed a lot of changes in arrhythmia interpretation/evaluation and new therapies including new device development, resynchronization therapy, advances in lead extraction, new technologies for catheter ablation and cryoablation, integration of imaging in catheter ablation, arrhythmias in cardiomyopathies (hypertrophic, ischemic, non-ischemic), atrial fibrillation: new treatments and diagnostic techniques, new approaches to ICD and pacemaker therapy, evaluation and management of syncope and autonomic dysfunction, evaluation of arrhythmias and sleep disorders and Web-based monitoring services.
