The Second Advanced Electrocardiography Conference was concluded in Jeddah. The conference discussed the advanced techniques used in diagnosing heart diseases through electro-cardiography (ECG), latest developments in diagnosing electro-cardio dysfunction through studying heart electricity, and developing treatment methods benefiting from Electrophysiological studies. The conference represented an opportunity to highlight models of cardiography techniques used to diagnose heart diseases, and to shed the light on specific rare cases that require highly technical methods to diagnose. The conference provided a platform to discuss difficult cases and to exchange opinions between consultant and specialist cardiologists from all over the kingdom. Huge crowd of heart electricity cardiologists were present in the conference hosted by the International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah. Dr. Mishaal Ghandour, Acting Director of IMC's Cardiac Center, welcomed the guests. During the event, Dr. Anmar Nassir, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Umm Al-Qura University, in an effort to discuss cooperation possibilities between IMC and the University in the area of advanced scientific conferences. Dr. Alaa El-Din Khalil, Conference Director, announced that the conference featured several scientific lectures and discussion forums. Dr. Abdul Halim Al-Sairafy, Conference Coordinator, introduced the participants. In the first lecture, Dr. Fayez Bukhari, Electrophysical Consultant at King Fahd Military Hospital in Jeddah, addressed diagnostic methods, and how to differentiate between accelerated heartbeats in different diseases. Dr. Ahmed Al-Harsy, Consultant of Electrophysiology at the University Hospital in Riyadh, introduced another set of rare cases. Dr. Ahmad Fagih, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, Head of Pacing and Electrophysiology Division at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in the Military Hospital, Riyadh, presented a number of ECGs, followed by an interactive questions and answers session. More lectures were introduced by elite of professionals, including Dr. Salama Hussein, Consultant Cardiologist at Dr. Irfan Hospital, Dr. Atef Al-Quebani, Consultant EKG at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, and Dr. Nadeem Raja, Consultant Cardiologist at King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah. Dr. Alaa Khalil, Consultant Cardiologist at IMC and Conference Director, presented the diagnostic methods of acute heart attack by using ECG in certain rare cases, followed by Dr. Jameel Al-Atta, Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist, who commented on ECGs in children. The conference featured a test for all attendants to diagnose very difficult ECGs. At the end of the event, valuable prizes were distributed to the top eight winners. Dr. Mohammed Thabet Awadallah, Specialist Cardiologist at IMC won the first position. It is worth mentioning that the conference is one of IMC's continuous medical education programs, which is conducted once a year for the doctors in the Kingdom.
