JEDDAH — ICHTHUS of Dennis Elmenzo beat KD Tambays 112-93 for its back-to-back championship crown of the Seiko-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Khalidia basketball court here. The winner's offense was unstoppable and patented trapping defense was in full flow. David top scored with 24 points for the winner and was adjudged the Seiko Watch best player of the game. Aquino scored 37 points for the winner and was named the New Cabalen best player of the game, while Callueng top scored with 16 points for the loser. JDC Legend edged JDC All Star A 97-96 in overtime for the championship in the Inter-Dawah division as team manager Ahmad Peradilla watched his two teams vying for the title from the sideline. Jaber Gonzales, a top contender for the MVP award, poured in 42 points and was selected as the Seiko Watch best player of the game. Jameel Cobre and Rasheed Florentino led the loser with 29 and 20 points, respectively. Fakieh Group of playing coach Ruel Bristol beat New Cabalen Restaurant – R Printing 78-77 to capture the Group A Inter-Company championship. It was a ding-dong battle up to the final buzzer as both teams played intense basketball. Caneta converted 24 points for the winner and was adjudged the Giordano best player of the game, while Condes top scored with 27 points for the loser.
