Wasalak excels in Seiko Watch-JBL

JEDDAH — Wasalak defeated Jeddah Clippers 128-85 for its fourth straight win in the Seiko Watch-JBL Tournament at the Khalidia basketball court here recently.
Pura scored 15 points for the winner and was adjudged as the Seiko Watch Best Player of the game. Mateo led the loser with 27 points.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Seiko Watch of Al-Hussaini & Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Hussaini). The co-sponsors are Nesma Airlines (Faisal Al-Turki), Rabea Tea, Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah), New Cabalen Restaurant (Japh Villanueva) and Ric Printing.
JDC B beat JDC A 97-96 in the Inter-Dawah Division. David topscored with 24 points for the winner and was named as the JBL Best Player, while Cobre chipped in with 42 points for the loser.
BHBC defeated Jacobs UDG 94-81. Gadiana contributed 33 points for the winner and was selected as the Giordano Best Player. Casingal scored 31 points for the loser. Pazadaure beat Thunder 100-74 for its 4th straight win. Tubid sank 22 points for the winner and was adjudged as the New Cabalen Restaurant Best Player. Mickey top scored with 25 points for the loser.
In Thursday games, Wasalak 40's of playing coach Fred Conception defeated Khalidia 40's 93-77. Aquino led the winner with 37 points and was named as the Seiko Watch Best Player. Batalon scored 19 points for the loser.
Fakieh Group beat Underdogs 106-91. Caneta scored 35 points for the winner and was selected as the JBL Best Player. Paul Taguba contributed 33 points for the loser.
Meanwhile in Riyadh Regional games, JBL Teens beat SPIS of Riyadh 68-60 in the Midget Division for the Championship. The champion Midget team was consisted of Gabriel Carbo, Ben Consolacion, Marky Dianalan, Drazen Mabanta, Justin Durante, Aldrin Francisco, Luis Hernandez, Michael Maddatu (MVP), Wasim Shekanie, Hamza Suyat, Nicholai Umlas, Frederick Angadol, Archdale Palaypayon and Charles Narciso with coaches Bong Umlas and Angel Palaypayon handling the side.
JBL Teens B won against the Mighty BM All Star 90-98 in the Juniors Division. The team included Mohammad Acub (MVP), Justine Matthew Agustin, Wayne Allen Ching, Bobby Mamaluba, Vince Jacob Petilla, Dos Yatco, Abdul Abdulaziz, Hassan Al Sulaimani, Benneth De Borja, Russel Carbo and Gino Oliva. Vinz Petilla and Carlo Carbo were the coaches.
JBL Teens A won also the second place. The players were King Acosta, Carl Carbo, Timothy Cartano, Prince Del Rosario, Densen Dolloso, Charles Granadino, Polan Palaypayon, Herian Sena, Jehad Usman, Rayman Mamak, Rayan Manalundong. Coaches: Rey Maddatu and Gerry Acosta.
