Crown Blue clinches Morning crown

JEDDAH — Crown Blue defeated ALJ Toshiba by 20 runs to win the Summer Morning final. The tournament was organized and sponsored by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
The SCC Morning Cup also witnessed thrilling matches.
Opting to bat in the final, Crown Blue piled up 178 for 8. Openers Tasleem batted well for his 48 and Saqib Butt hit 20. Waseem then hit 28 to add 50 with Faizi (22). Once this partnership was broken ALJ Toshiba bowlers bounced back to reduce the opponent to 147 for 7, grabbing 5 wickets for 25 runs. Zahoor then stroked an unbeaten 15 and Shafiq 13 to get to 178. Amir grabbed 3 for 15 and one wicket each went to Aftab (1-49), Bilal (1-25), Azeem (1-34) and Israr (1-32).
ALJ Toshiba, in reply, was off to a flying start with Azeem making 26 — 17 in the opening over. ALJ Toshiba then lost wickets at regular intervals with half the side back in the pavilion by 77 in the 9th over. Bilal, who smashed 43, tried to steer his team out of the woods but feeble support from the other end undid his efforts. Qurban emerged the chief destroyer with 4 for 21, Saqib Butt took 3 for 30 and one wicket each was taken by Waseem and Arif Jutt.
Qurban was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Sohail Shah and Kashif Mirza supervised the match, while the scoring was done by Amir Choudhry and Naushad.
SCC Morning Cup
AGA, Apex Express, Sadafco, Brasa De Brazil, Edge Tech, Stallions and ATC won their matches in the SCC Morning Cup, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre and organized by WPCA.
AGA beat Jeddah Tigers by 7 wickets. Jeddah Tigers 105 for 9 — Waseem 19; Kashif and Jaan 3-17 each, Fahad Hashmi 2-20. AGA 106 for 3 — Mohsin 23, Fahad Hashmi 38 not out, Jaan 16 not out.
Apex Express won against Cousin XI by 6 wickets. Cousin XI 175 — Arfan Khan 59, Naveed Qamar 24, Naveed Sehar 23, Khurram 24; Rifat 2-6, Saad 2-36. Apex Express 180 for 4 — Rizwan 63, Abdulaziz 15, Omer 36 not out. Irfan Khan 2-33.
Sadafco thrashed Hyderabad Strikers by 162 runs. Sadafco 227 for 7 — Shamsuddin 29, Ali Jaan 36, Zubair 28, Hasnain 28, Saqib 74 (ret); Anwar 3-32, Irfan 2-42, Abdullah 2-50. Hyderabad Strikers 65 for 7 — Irfan Ayazuddin 19, Mannan 15; Tauseef 4-13, Saqib 3-10.
Brasa De Brazil humbled Super Cricket Club by 7 wickets. Super Cricket Club 111 for 8 — Affaan 44, Sameer 15; Farhan 2-9, Shahid 2-12. Brasa De Brazil 117 for 3 — Tahir 51, Umair 32, Faisal 17.
Edge Tech defeated NNG Sports by 4 wickets. NNG Sports 124 for 7 — Noman Gul 29, Waheed 19, Haseeb 18. Edge Tech 127 for 6 — Mazhar 30, Ehtesham 26 not out; Kaleem 3-12, Javeed 2-28.
Stallions crushed Kashmir Strikers by 8 wickets. Kashmir Striker 161 — Awais 44, Zahid 17, Ahsaan 21, Arif 31; Waqas 4-40, Faizan 2-27, Hassan Ali 2-40. Stallions 165 for 2 — Emad hammered 84, Asim Hafeez 18, Jahanzaib 24 not out, Abdulrehman 16 not out; Adil 2-21.
