Many people easily dismiss phone and internet usage during Ramadan. Sure, social media and phones can be a distraction but they can also be a source of a knowledge, charity and can help facilitate prayers.
Like the internet, it depends on what you're really using your phone for. This week we have chosen a few of the best applications andsocial media channels that can help you learn more about Islam, charity and the beautiful month of Ramadan.
1. Bayyinah TV- Study the Quran in depth with Nouman Ali Khan. Bayyinah TV allows millions of people all over the world to connect with the Quran, Arabic and History.
2.Mufti Menk Lectures- you can access audio MP3 lectures compressed and optimized for fast streaming on www.seedsofguidance.com/mufti-menk-lectures.
3. Ramadan Legacy 2016 is a practical tool that works like an interactive planner and timeline of your Ramadan achievements throughout the month.
4.Quran Verse of the Day- even after Ramadan, make time for the Quran and try starting your day with a verse from it. Quran Verse of the Day or QVOTD brings you inspirational and heart warming verses in English.
5.Prophetic Timeline- The app is available on Android/Google device. It helps you learn about the most important events that took place during the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Discover other interactive features to learn lessons and wisdoms from his teachings, and listen to the epic battles he fought with the BBC voice-over narration that comes free with the app.
6.Kids Dua Now- is an interactive application for kids to learn and memorize the daily Islamic Duas in the easiest way. Each group features duas for a particular age group.
7.Ramadan Fitness Challenge- this one is important too. Instead of feasting and sleeping back to back, fitness is important. Whether you work out during or after your fast is up to you but physical exercise is of utmost importance.
8. Muslim Pro - Ramadan 2016- is reportedly recognized by more than 25 million Muslims around the world as the most accurate prayer time and adaan application. It features the Quran with Arabic scripts, phonetics, translations and audio recitations as well as a Qibla locator, an Islamic Hijri calendar, a map of halal restaurants and Mosques among other things.
