New students council of Khozama School takes office; sports' meet begins

DAMMAM — Al-Khozama International School celebrated its Investiture Ceremony and Annual Sports meet at the school campus here last week with great excitement and enthusiasm.
The Investiture ceremony began with a march past by students, who were drawn from four houses of the school. The guard of honor was provided to school principal and guests during the colorful ceremony, which drew rapturous applause from the audience. In the girls section the march past was led by the Head Girl for girls section and school Head Boy for boys section.
The chief guest of the event was Khazi Mohammed Siddiqui (principal, Modern International School – Al Ahsa), guests of honor included Mrs Arfa Khazi (headmistress, Modern International School – Al Ahsa) Gopinath Menon (principal & head of the institution, Al-Khozama International School), Awad Bin Esa (manager AKIS) Mrs. Shimi Siby (principal, AKIS girls section), Amal Rashid (manager – AKIS), Sajna Mylanchi (headmistress, AKIS), Niyas CK (headmaster – AKIS), Pravin (sports coordinator, AKIS), Mrs. Leena Gogy and Mrs, Priyadarshini (sports and event coordinator – AKIS) .
After the march past, Mrs. Sajna, in her welcome address, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and other guests of honor. She also bestowed responsibility on the newly elected students' council members. She hoped that the new members would take the responsibility with firm determination and lead the school from the front.
This year's School Council leaders from boys section are:
School Head Boy: Kevin Thomas Mathew; Vice Head: Adithya Ramakrishnan; Sports Captain: Mohammed Nohu ; Sports Secretary: Danish Khaleelullah; Cultural Secretary: Ammar Khan.
House Captains and Vice Captains: Topaz House: Ayan Ahmed and Mohammed Rayyan; Sapphire House: Sanin Salahi and Mohammed Ahmed Mohiuddin; Amber House: Faiz Abdulla and Syed Owais; and Ruby House: Izzath and Shine Surendran.
The Prefects included: Mohammed Hunaifa, Archint Ramesh, Adhityan T.S. ,Jsodeph Albin' Timmy Titus and Sahil Anas.
This year's Girls Council comprises Sharon Saju - school head girl, Karen Saira John - vice head; Larissa Clitus Antoy – sports captain, Asma Vaheed Khan – sports secretary; Reshma Gogy – cultural secretary; Mariam Vaheed Khan — captain; Maha Nawaz — vice captain (Sapphire House) Andrea Shaju — captain, Taiba Syed — vice captain (Topaz House); Devika T. Suresh — captain and Tarab Jawed — vice captain (Amber House); and Kabsha Rehab — captain and Haifa Asharaf — vice captain (Ruby House).
The Discipline Incharges are: Varsha Sabu, Adifa Samar, Crystal Nivea Bobi, Maria Navin, Maria Kuriakose and Safa Reem.
The newly elected council members after taking oath, pledged to work earnestly and keep the school motto of loyalty, truth and honor in high esteem. Respective principals officially declared the opening of the Sports & Cultural activities for the year 2016-17.
The school principal in his felicitation speech reiterated the importance of winning the people and healthy and positive competition. To mark the inauguration of the sports and cultural activities for this academic year the torch was handed over to the principal by the sports captains and finally handed over to the sports coordinators, symbolizing hope for the future.
The school Head Girl and Head Boy in their speech expressed their gratitude toward their teachers for building their career and character.
