Jeddah Titans clinch JBL title

Movenpick Resort Al-Nawras of Joeffrey Barbudo defeated Khalidia Tambayz 116-100 to claim Titan Watch-JBL Basketball 2016 Group B crown at Al Baik basketball court in Khalidia District Jeddah recently.
Teamwork in the final quarter played a major role in helping Al-Nawras secure the win. The loser tried hard but committed crucial errors in the dying minutes of the game. Caneta top scored with 48 points for the winner and was adjudged the Titan Watch Player of the Game. Sebunga scored 27 points for the loser.
The tournament is principally sponsored by Titan Watch of Al-Hussaini & Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Hussaini) and co-sponsored by Al-Aziziyah Islamic Center (Sheikh Ahmad and Sheikh Ali Ajlani), Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office, Jeddah Dawah Center, Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah), Ric Santos Printing, Radian Massage Cream (Mahmoud Omer) and Kabayan Gents Tailoring.
JDC B beat JDC A 86-67 in a Jeddah Dawah Center exhibition game. The winner played great offense in the fourth quarter. Jameel Cobre had 26 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Mark led the loser with 19 points.
The awardees in the 40 and above Division were Cinnabon: champion; Gensoul Lion: 1st runner-up; Gensoul Eagle: 2nd runner-up; and UDG: 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five were Casingal (UDG), Jomar Nalus (Gensoul Eagle), Bong Umlas (Gensoul Lion), Richard Doronilla (Cinnabon) and Fred Concepcion (Cinnabon). Venice Chu of Cinnabon was named the Best Coach, while Noriel Aquino (Cinnabon) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The awardees in the non-rated Group A Division were: Jeddah Titans: champion; VICCM: 1st runner-up; Fame Thunders: 2nd runner-up; and Radian Khalidia: 3rd runner-up.
The elite mythical five were: Carbonel Dela Guardia (VICCM), Edu Gallano (Fame Thunders), King Acosta (Radian Khalidia), Sergio Samson (Jeddah Titans) and Zaldy Enage (Jeddah Titans). Harris Penaranda (Jeddah Titans) was adjudged the Best Coach, while Bernard Carino (Jeddah Titans) was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The awardees in the non-rated Group B Division were: Movenpick Resort Al-Nawras: champion; Khalidia Tambayz: 1st runner-up; Knights: 2nd runner-up; and NRF: 3rd runner-up.
The elite mythical five were: King Acosta (NRF), Raffy David (Knights), Dula Dawin (Movenpick Resort), Joemar Caneta (Movenpick Resort) and Garcia (Khalidia Tambayz). Ruel Bristol (Khalidia Tambayz) picked up the Best Coach honors, while Jonathan Ancheta (Movenpick Resort) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
