Daquioag, Esperancilla excel in FEDBG Friday Morning League
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 28 - 11 - 2011

Captain Roger Daquioag inspired Pin Slasher with scratch series of 704 that led to trashing of their opponent while Christine Esperancilla capitalized her handicap for 619 total to greatly help D'Mountaineers in facing rival on the fifth week, whereas Ric Reformado and Fatima Jintarat once again piloted their teams by their Bowler of the Week honor-winning scores of 708 and 624 on the sixth session of the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 11th conference at the Bowling City here.
With talented players Lance & 3rdy was initially contending well for manageable 1,166-1,126 decision in Game 1. But sudden extrication was unleashed by Pin Slasher when Roger Daquioag chained strikes for 277 with which Garry Raymundo remarkably backed up with 227 that caused a 1,266-1,045 breakaway on concrete help of Obie Ycasas, Aileen Miralbuna, Tito Cruz and Edu Toledo in Game 2. Captain Ric Reformado and Rene Punzalan enlivened Lance with 228 and 217 but the 236 and 216 counter bowling from Daquioag and Ycasas plus another solid support from teammates gave all the 20 points to Pin Slasher at a final aggregate of 3,587-3,307. Daquioag won Bowler of the Week on scores of 197, 277 and 236 with Ycasas supporting 605. Reformado defended Lance best with 600 scratch.
Starframes and D'Mountaineers stole scene with suspenseful match final point tallies favored the earlier by taking the overall aggregate at 3,481-3,445 and equaling the latter on scratch total at 3,061 for 10.5-9.5-point separation. Such peculiar distribution happened as Starframes won the initial game at 1,172-1,086 and D'Mountaineers swept the last two sets at 1,180-1,164 and 1,179-1,145. But due to narrow edge per game, Starframes successfully safeguarded their lead to be the eventual winner. Best player for Starframes was Sol Cuenca at 630 well supported by Vangie Lim at 602 while team head Joel Nidoy led his teams survival with 636 (204, 277, 205) and Christine Esperancilla consoled Rudy Jamon-manged D' Mountaineers by becoming the lady Bowler of the Week on scores of 195, 196 and 228 for 619 collection.
Team of the Week this fifth session was the Emil Payongayong-led BCT Ball Care that blanked Rudy Valenzuela-captained Pin Rockers on aggregate of 3,605-3,388.
Lance & 3rdy bounced back when Ric Reformado recorded 708 series on Bowler of the week honor winning scratch scores of 249, 223 and 236 and led a 16-4 success over BCT Ball Care whose best defender was Benj Espinosa on final settlement of 3,504-3,406.
Best help to Reformado was team manager Evelyn Santoc with 614 for Lance & 3rdy's winning cause, while Nards Hassan tried boosting Espinosa with his 593 for BCT Ball Care's shielding.
Fatima Jintarat rose up to comfort her bleak fate stricken team Starframes with her second Bowler of the week honor winning series of 624 collected from 173, 228 and 223. New Alignment emptied Starframes on total submission of 3,529-3,306.
Nelson Hofer and Farida de Guzman primarily served Bobby Baraquel-headed New Alignment with 619 and 616, while aside from Jintarat, Chito Ogatia also tried covering Starframes with 568.
Albert Abug-managed Royal Strikers captained by Jun Estefano is Team of the Week on this session. With Gerry Tano (638) and Estefano (630) leading the binge Royal Strikers blanked Classmates on final tallies of 3,561-3,166.
