All set for semifinals in Under-16 Johnson Control Cup

Pakistan International School Jeddah (PISJ-ES) will take on DPS Al-Falah International School and Pakistan International School (PIS) Aziziya Green will meet PIS Aziziya White in the semifinals of the Under-16 Inter-School Cricket Championship for Johnson Control Cup at the WPCA ground here Thursday.
The tournament, which is being organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) is sponsored by Johnson Control.
The highlight of this week was a century by Umer of Iqbal International School, the first of the tournament so far. The Final will be played on Dec. 1.
Iqbal International School, opting to bat first against Al-Corniche Int'l School, plundered 219 for 1 in 16 overs, thanks to fine batting by Umer who compiled an unbeaten 110 in 55 balls and Noman who made 64. They added 202 runs for the unbroken second wicket. In reply, Al-Corniche reached up to 198 for 1 as Mohsin hit 73 and Anas Malik scored 59 n.o.
In another match, PIS Aziziya Green, batting first against Al-Beladi Int'l School, put up 136 for 1 with Hamza making an unbeaten 69 and Mudassir compiling 58. Waleed took the lone wicket to fall. Al-Beladi, in response, was stranded at 131-9, thus lost by 5 runs. Hasan Raza scored 22, Waleed 20, Fiazan 25 and Sayam 18. Umer grabbed 4-33. Abdullah, Ali and Gohar Ali got one wicket each.
In the third encounter, PIS Azizya White piled up 137-4 aginst PISJ (ES). Hisham contributed 50, Butt 32, Umer 18 and Abbas 16. Furqan and Umer Lateef claimed one wicket each. PISJ (ES), in response, was restricted to 123-6 in the stipulated overs. Skipper Furqan crafted 46, Ahsan 34, Maaz 19 and Habib 14. Hisham bowled menacingly to take 4 wickets for 27 and Umer had one.
On Friday, PISJ (ES) defeated Al-Corniche by 39 runs. PISJ (ES) produced 151-3 through Habib (44) and Usman (23) and then restricted Corniche to 112-8 as Umer Lateef took 4-32.
