The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Talent Convention set for Oct. 9-11 at Park Hyatt Hotel, Dubai will provide local and regional company executives a platform to exhibit their knowledge in the fields of strategic organizational capabilities and development and talent management. GPCA Secretary General Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun said the convention, a first-of-its-kind event for human resource management professionals, will deliver a two-day speaker program with some of the most influential figures from the GCC. A pre-convention workshop on Oct. 9 entitled “Achieving Sustainability through Agile Organizations” will be led and facilitated by Dr. Donald Sull, a professor of Management Practice in Strategic and International Management and the Faculty Director of Executive Education at the London Business School. The inaugural address on day 1 is by Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan, Chairman, Bin Zayed Group. Sessions on women in leadership roles will be held with Lulwa Al Mutlaq, chairwoman, president & CEO Golden Trust Co. and Reem Al-Ghanim, coordinator, Office Planning and Design Division, Saudi Aramco, among the speakers. In-depth information on HR as a business partner and value creator, developing human capital, the HO (human versus organization) factor, talent retention, and other pertinent issues across organizations in the region and globally will be tackled in sessions on human capital management.
