Taif Health Affairs is not to blame for the delay in payment of salaries to male and female workers who recently called on the Taif Governorate to intervene in the matter, according to Sa'eed Al-Zahrani, spokesman for Taif Health Affairs. The workers who are demanding their salaries are not working for any company now operating in Taif hospitals; they had been working for an establishment that had a contract with Health Affairs, but the contract was canceled three months ago, he stressed. Al-Zahrani also said the workers' salaries had been paid to the Labor Committee in the governorate, to be handed over to them.Okaz/Saudi Gazette recently reported that workers of different nationalities called on the Labor Committee in Taif Governorate to resolve the problem with the company that operated the Southern Taif, Maisan, Al-Sahn and Al-Qurai' hospitals. The company, the name of which Okaz/Saudi Gazette is withholding, had regularly delayed paying workers' salaries for several months. This led to the deterioration of work in some hospitals, including the Northern and Southern Taif hospitals, in which the company was responsible for maintenance and cleaning. Before the end of the company's contract, the Makkah Emirate intervened several times to address workers' problems. The company has received its full entitlements, but it has not fully paid about 160 male and female workers. __
