Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan has said that the direct impact of the restoration of allowances for all state employees will be felt by the end of next month when the salaries are adjusted. Al-Jadaan said, "The impact will be clear in the third and fourth quarters of the current fiscal year." Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a package of decrees on Saturday, including a royal order restoring financial allowances for civil servants and military personnel. "The royal order returns all allowances, financial benefits, and bonuses to civil servants and military staff," the decree said.. Al-Jadaan told Al-Arabiya TV that he expected the order to boost confidence in the Saudi economy. "The royal decision to return bonuses and allowances to all employees of the state will stimulate the economy and increase the volume of liquidity and purchasing power in the hands of citizens." He added that Article 13 of the order to stop these allowances had clearly said that the decision would be reviewed in accordance with the latest developments. The economic reforms are on the right track and have begun to bear fruits. Government revenues are now expected to increase, he said. The minister noted the issue was one of need rather than time. Therefore, it was reviewed just five months after the initial order, and the allowances have now been restored, he said.
