Ayoon wa Azan (Insolence)
Published in AL HAYAT on 09 - 12 - 2012

The US Treasury Department blamed Germany for enjoying a “chronic" commercial surplus while the imbalance in the Euro zone hinders international commerce and Northern Europe is doing nothing to stop the massive surplus in its commerce.
If I had to describe the above with one word, that word would be “insolence." What the Treasury department is saying is that Germany is successful and, instead of trying to do the same and be as successful, America wants Germany to fall to its level of failure.
The difference between Germany and the United States is the difference between Mercedes or BMW and any American car. The Germans produce a good car that lasts for years while the Americans produce a car that breaks on the day the insurance expires hence the phrase, “a car with built-in defects."
This piece is not about American or German cars but rather about insolence. This insolence becomes clear when comparing the budgets of the ministries of defense around the world. Indeed, the budget of the American ministry of defense, which amounts to 711 billion dollars this year, is more than all the military budgets of the world put together. The Chinese military budget amounts to 143 billion dollars this year. However, I have constantly read about the US' objection to the increased Chinese military spending although the US population is 300 million while the Chinese population is 1,200 million.
The cold war ended in the early 1990s but the American ministry of defense's budget has been inflating year after year in fear of a non-existing enemy. On top of all that, America is objecting to China's military budget. This is an infinite insolence to be added to all the other American forms of insolence.
The American congress is another name for the insolence. Following the world's voting on granting Palestine an observer seat in the United Nations, the members of the Congress called for America's withdrawal from the UN. Let's look back at what happened: the majority of the world made a decision, which got rejected by a radical gang from a pioneering country in Human Rights. In other words, this gang is rejecting democracy while its successive administrations had destroyed countries under the pretext of spreading democracy there.
Of course, since we're talking about insolence, no man in the world is more insolent than the war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu. In response to the world voting for Palestine, he said that the voting is “meaningless" and will not lead to the establishment of a state.
If that is so, why did he get so upset and why did he prevent the tax money from reaching the Palestinian national Authority, and why did he announce his plan to build an additional 3,000 residence units in the West Bank and Jerusalem?
I can fill this entire issue of Al-Hayat with criticism of the Israeli columnists against the politics of the Netanyahu cabinet, which has caused the world to reject Israel. I say that the state of Palestine extends from the sea to the river and that Israel is a colonizing, Fascist, racist state that is practicing the Apartheid against the owners of the land. This is also the opinion of priest Desmond Tutu.
Israel is also practicing the quasi-daily insolent act of ignoring the reason for the propagation of anti Semitism in the East and the West. I read in an English newspaper that the Tottenham team, a North London team where there are many Jewish citizens, is coming under anti-Semitism campaigns wherever it plays. Indeed, the Westham fans cheered anti-Semitic slogans against Tottenham and referred to Hitler. The team received the same reaction when it played against the Lazio team in Roma. The Italian fans raised a banner reading, “Free Palestine." On the other bank of the Atlantic Ocean, the UN prevented a group supporting Israel, i.e. the Israeli terrorism, from attending hearings and taking part in dialogues. Thus, a Likud-affiliated website carried the headline, “Apartheid against Israel at the United Nations."
Israel is the reason for the spread of anti-Semitism around the world. It is a racist, neo-Nazi state that is killing children along with their parents. Denying the Israeli responsibility for the propagation of anti-Semitism will not allow for fighting it. It is as if Israel and its supporters want anti-Semitism to proceed in order to keep complaining about how the Jews are being treated while Israel is the source of the problem. How insolent these people are!
