Ayoon Wa Azan (Islam is Less Violent and More Compassionate Than Judaism)
Published in AL HAYAT on 25 - 01 - 2010

Israel has sent rescue and medical teams to Haiti tens of thousands of miles away, while the Hebrew state destroys homes in Gaza on top of their inhabitants, kills women and children, and blocks food and medicine from reaching others.
It is hence an exposed public relations stunt, which was protested by some in the Israeli press. The fascistic government comprising of the Likud, Shas, and Yisrael Beiteinu knows that the whole world is now treating Israel in the same manner the former South African apartheid (racial segregation) state was treated. But instead of addressing the root causes that led to this situation, the Israeli government decided to respond with further lies, fabrications and blaming others, and thus sent its teams to Haiti.
The true face of Israel can be seen through its daily practices. According to a report issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, 22 specific Palestinian communities, with a total population of 75,900, are “highly vulnerable” to attacks by settlers, which are sometimes carried out with the assistance of the Israeli army, while about 175,000 residents are “moderately vulnerable.” This report was published by Ha'aretz. This is not to mention the Goldstone report and the condemnations it has carried against Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
The Israeli government responded to this by lying as usual. I have in front of me a report written by Ira Chernus and published in an antiwar website. The report says that the Reut Institute, an Israeli think-tank, is spearheading a campaign that accuses any critics of Israel of anti-Semitism. Of course, this is an old accusation that the government of Israel invokes to cover up its crimes. I went back to the institute's website and found a report about this entitled “the Hubs of Delegitimization”, which does not mention any grounds at all.
The institute claims that the campaign to “delegitimize Israel” is being run in global centres in London, Madrid and Berkeley (in California), and adds that there is a somewhat “soft” anti-Semitism being exploited by hard-core anti-Semites in their campaigns against Israel.
Of course, the institute does not mention that Israel is being increasingly subjected to criticism by the international human rights groups, which are hard to accuse of being anti-Semitic. Subsequently, the institute does not say that Israel itself has become the primary cause of increasing anti-Semitism. As Israel commits its daily crimes, and continues its occupation, it provides the best pretexts for the hatred of anti-Semites, East and West.
Recently, the Obama administration appointed Hannah Rosenthal, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, as a Special Envoy and the head of Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism. Personally, I wish her every success, but I have a small advice to give her: she should focus on Israel and its practices, because she will never be able to combat anti-Semitism unless she addresses its root causes.
Perhaps Ms. Rosenthal will also work to counter racism against Muslim Americans, as the latest American public opinion poll conducted by the major Gallup group showed that 63 percent of Americans know little to nothing about Islam, but that 53 percent of them regard Islam negatively. The poll also showed that there is racism in America against everyone, including Christians, Jews and Buddhists, but that the negative look towards Islam was much higher among those polled.
Muslims are suffering from the stigma of terrorism which no doubt came from amongst them. However, the efforts of their vast majority against terrorism, and the stances of all Muslims countries and their role in fighting terrorism, and all other positive efforts in this regard, are being overlooked by the western media, whether deliberately or inadvertently. Moreover, the Likudnik websites and all outlets affiliated with the lobby and the warmongers work hard to portray Muslims as terrorists and Islam as a violent religion.
I have many examples, but I prefer to write about them in a separate article, given the importance of this topic. All I want to say today is that any comparison among the five books of the Torah, called the books of Moses, and the Holy Quran reveals that Islam is less violent and more compassionate than Judaism. While the Quran for instance does not mention the word sword not even once, genocide is repeatedly taking place in the Torah, and the sixth book in the Torah, the book of Joshua, is enough proof for this.
My opinion, which I have articulated previously at the World Economic Forum in Davos, is that Islam is better than the Muslims. However, I want to stick to the subject at hand. There is an extremist government in Israel today working against peace, and blackmailing everyone, even the Catholic Church. When Pope Benedict visited a synagogue in Rome, some Italian Jews criticized Pope Pius XII for not “doing enough” to save Italy's Jews. This is despite the fact that recorded history, which the Jews seem to deny because it is otherwise impossible, tells us that the Italian monasteries, churches and the Vatican itself sheltered and hid Italian Jews during the war, thus preventing their transfer to gas chambers in Germany. Hence, only a few thousands of them were murdered, compared to millions others killed from the rest of Europe. Nonetheless, Israel is now blackmailing the Catholic Church, and threatening to impose taxes as it constructed buildings on the Church's properties in Palestine, and claimed that it will rent them while not desiring to return these lands to their rightful owners.
There is the old anti-Semitism, and there is a new form of anti-Semitism. While the old religious motivated anti-Semitism has faded, the new form, motivated by Israel's crimes, is here to stay, and a public relations stunt in Haiti will not eliminate it.
