U.S. President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande said Friday that a “strong growth agenda” is needed to ease the European debt crisis. Obama met with Hollande in the Oval Office at the White House for the first time since Hollande was elected president of France. Following the meeting, Obama said that he and Hollande agreed that the crisis in the eurozone is of extraordinary importance to the global economy. Later Friday, the two leaders will join other world leaders at Camp David for the G8 summit. Obama said that the economic summit will target both management of the European debt crisis and a strong growth agenda.
