South Korean President Lee Myung- bak met here today with visiting Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Niaimi. During the meeting, the minister conveyed greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, to the president who, in turn, sent greetings to the King and the Crown Prince. Talks during the meeting focused on the situation of the international oil market, the importance of its stability in order to serve the world economy, in general and both emerging and developing countries, in particular. Discussions also dealt with the trade cooperation and relations between the two countries in the fields of oil, gas and mining including mutual investments. In a press statement, following the meeting, Minister Al-Niaimi said that Korea is a friendly country to the Kingdom and the 4th biggest Saudi oil importer adding that Saudi ARAMCO company has stake in one of the biggest Korean oil companies S-OIL. He stated that a lot of projects related to the Saudi oil industry are implemented by Korean companies. He asserted that bilateral relations, especially in the oil field, is continuously developing for the service of the interests of the two countries and peoples. -- SPA
