The Second Session of the Joint Committee between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League began here today on the implementation of Cooperation Agreement between the two sides. The OIC side is headed by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Abdullah Alim, while Ambassador Mohammed Musa Subaih, Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Affairs led the Arab League Delegation. In an opening speech of the meeting, Ambassador Abdullah Alim reviewed developments in the region, stressing the interest of the OIC and the Arab League in this context. He hoped the session will led to the unification of efforts and stances towards the current developments and activation of the cooperation agreement between the two sides. For his part, Ambassador Subaih highlighted the role played by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, pointing to the great challenges facing the two organizations. He stressed the need to translate what will be agreed upon by the two sides into practical programs through the transition from the stage of dialogue to that of implementation.
