Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev said Saturday Russia would pay its full debt owed to Kyrgyzstan for the lease of military bases, according to UPI. Atambayev said in a radio interview with Ekho Moskvy Russia owes Kyrgyzstan $15 million in rent for the Kant air base for the last four years, rent which he said the United States has paid "without any delays" for the use of other such bases in the country. "They should be training our pilots. Well, they're not," he said. He said Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was kept in the dark about the debt but told the Defense Ministry Friday to pay it, RIA Novosti reported.
